Thanks guys. I know what a melody is but then again I think I don’t in the context he mentioned in the video. When he said learn the melody of a few songs then that’ll help you….and how that helped him on the Podcast. That left me stumped. How would learning melodies from an un-related song help you to improvise?

Yes this was a good episode. Matt said I need to work on melodies and I was like, “how do I do that? What is a melody?” 😂🤣😂🤣🥴🥴🥴 I’m totally serious. If anyone wants to elaborate I’m all ears.

This is just the best thing ever! I am so grateful @Surferjay because unless someone shares these things with you and instills the confidence you need to give it a try, you may wait too long when you could’ve had it all along. Thanks a lot! I’m so excited….

Thanks Jay @Surferjay. I found this on YT. I’m working on it now but I’m not paying attention to the G string for now because I only have my high G uke with me right now. Thanks a lot.

Whoah!Ok, I think you just unlocked an entire world to me. I am not familiar with the second or third shapes. That’s phenomenal. I will search for them on you tube I guess. Unlessnyou want to post the second shape here. Did you just start with the D note instead of the C for the second shape? Thanks so much.

@camper Yes just put the @sign before the name of the account and it will work. You also have to check the box below that says you want to be notified of the responses via email.

Yes please post pics with your bike and uke of course ☺️. Sounds great.

@surferjay, Jamming with Corey and Kalei would be amazing. They’re my faves. That’s why I need to start learning how to improv this year so that if ever given the chance I would be ready ☺️. Of course, it’s taken them 30,000 hrs to get where they are but we have to start somewhere 😂

Thanks @surferjay. You’re a good Teacher. I know the C scale but I was intrigued when you mentioned 5 patterns that connect together. It’s probably more simple than I’m imagining right? What are the 5 patterns you were talking about? Thanks forthe video. Sounded like waves in the background. Nice.

Yes @surferjay Please post the 5 patterns you use. I have time this month because I’m doing Chopsticks and I am pretty much done with it.

@camper What a great way to play your uke in tandem with your bicycling. Fun. The premium membership is sooooo worth it and a great price if you pay for it yearly. Once you start playing you’ll love it. It’s addictive.
