How fun to pick a song to work on! I chose Hone A aka Wai. This is a lovely Hawaiian Waltz.
I am still working on frets 10-12. My fingers know where to go but sure take a long time to get there. I did want to get my video in on time though.

This month I worked on Summertime. I need to work on finger strength and stretch. The hammer-on from Dm really challenged me and I haven’t yet mastered that. This is a real learning opportunity!

ParticipantWell sorry but this attempt is rather sad. Timing way off but I’ve run out of time and am recovering from a cold.
Here is my attempt at concept lesson number 1 solo in G. I will keep practicing and hopefully get my fingers and brain to work together faster

It was really fun and quite encouraging to work on a piece again. I can see improvement and also room for improvement. Accuracy along with speed is still a real challenge for me.
Thank you for this challenge.

This will be a lot of fun! I will be working on the piece Chopsticks as that was my first forum submission way back in October 2021. I have learned so much since then. Let’s see if it shows.
Here is the link to my first entry.

ParticipantThis was fun…
Early January, Bb was rough
After weeks of practice, it was smoother
In a song it sounds like this
This will take more practice.

ParticipantHappy New Year!
As a “mature beginner,” I have a lot to learn and master.
My “on bite at a time” challenge will be smoothly transitioning into and out of Bb.
Execution: find two songs that include the Bb chord.
Application: practice those songs daily and break out four measures at a time.
Evaluation: play the two songs smoothlyThank you. This will be a good exercise.
Life is good,
