I am thankful for this challenge! I chose Etude No. 36 with a three fingered approach. This is one I shall enjoy playing for a long time. Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Having watched the original Adam’s Family in black and white, this month’s challenge was fun. I learned many things, guess what? I can’t snap like I used to. I also wasn’t able to consistently get my fingers to go fast enough to increase the speed.

LeslieI attempted Hawaii 50 this month. I had a challenging time with it. My fingers aren’t moving as fast as my brain tells them to and well I am frustrated.

Thank you Andrew and team for choosing these amazing songs. I worked on Clocks by Coldplay. Progress is slow but sure.
Still working on the double bar Al the way at the 10th and 12th fret. Getting better.
I attempted learning the Irish Washerwoman. I was unable to make my fingers move quickly and accurately. By the time I realized that I had not mastered this piece it was too late to try to master another. “Patience, grasshopper, patience”.
Evaluation
Concentrating on a particular skill instead of a particular song has worked very well. I will need to continue focusing on not only songs, but skills/techniques. Thank you Andrew!

Andrew, thank you very much for the video. The two different styles of chucks make so much more sense now. I especially appreciate the hints as to how to choose which one fits the style of music. Now off to practice,

LeslieThis is my first update after two weeks of practice. Still working on that chuck. My fingers seem to catch in the strings.
Andrew and Rock Class 101 Family
As chucking is a real challenge for me, I plan on taking this opportunity to get more comfortable with add ing that backbeat to a song. Even though I have been able to “fake it” as a beginner, I really need to master this.
Execution: I will work on the Adding a Backbeat lesson every day for a week. Then I will work on the 12 Bar Blues lesson.
Application: I will incorporate chucking into the 12 Bar Blues
Evaluation: I will record and post my version of the 12 Bar Blues.
This is a really great challenge! It is encouraging us to explore concepts that we may not yet be comfortable with. I really like the prize as well!I am a premium member.

This month stripping wallpaper, painting, and other home improvement projects has taken a toll on my hands and my memory. I admit that I rushed this and will continue to practice in between the projects.

Thank you Andrew. Congratulations on a wonderful 10 years helping all of us. I practiced with the player but need to get over the initial angst I have trying to keep up with it. Yes, I slow it down and know it’s a great tool. I need to practice building up muscle memory and speed.
