Yankee Doodle: I had trouble getting the last 2 challenges done even though I loved messing with them. This was more manageable though the harmonics were a challenge. They are admittedly late and a little clumsy. And I accidentally ended up hitting a wrong chord and then decided to use it after a few attempts. The “one-take” comment was a bald faced lie. Thanks, this is fun. – Greg (Moral victory: its not July 31st at 11:50PM)

Member“Miller’s Reel”
tune suggestions?….. you did a session with the fiddle tune “Whiskey Before Breakfast” One my favorite sets was a set of 3 reels that finished with Whiskey Before Breakfast. Its started with the energetic “Miller’s Reel” as arranged and played by Daniel Carwile at the time with the “Full Moon Ensemble” out of Alabama. Always loved the first tune (Millers Reel). Daniel is an amazing fiddler and teacher. I have his arrangement. We did several shows with them.
Attempting to upload the mp3 and the score.
thanks for considering, Greg

My attempt. ran out of prep time and spend a lot of time on the triplet phrase and had trouble with the allegedly easier parts. Fun though. lesson in time management. 🙂
thanks, Greg

Is the intent to use Form-2 for that whole Day-O phrase from bars 5-7?
Thanks a mill, Greg

MemberHi Brett, that’s cool. I like it too. its great. I’m with a pipe band in the area usually, but this looked like fun. So I started as a piper and now a drummer. Never anything with strings. This has been a blast, but so much to learn still.
thx. Greg

MemberThanks for the feedback! that’s great. didn’t expect all that. (first timer). Sustaining the tones… yes I can see that now. I think the staccato creeps in when I try to go too fast. And now that’s I’m looking at the hammer thumb….yeah…. . awareness will build i hope. 🙂
thanks a mill,
Greg
