Thank you very very much RockClass 🙏 I feel very lucky to win this month and it will be my first Holo Holo Kanile’a in my prize collection. My previous winnings had bodies made from bamboos or wood but never plastic. I cant wait to get my hands on it.

Here’s my performance of Mr. Sandman, my super stretched goal this month and final application of tapping harmonics technique. Looking back, it’s amazing to see how the structured online courses and a passionate community support makes learning fun and interesting. I feel like I have achieved my goal this month. Now I am gonna take a breather to relax and catch up with all of the amazing entries submitted this month. Thank you Rockclass!
Glad to hear everyone making good progress on their goals this month. I finished my harmonics course (highly recommended!) last week and able to play the capstone piece. Now I’m on my stretch goal to learn Mr Sandman. It has taken me many days to be able to work the harmonics with the tapping technique but it sounds amazing when I manage to get it pop. I am now onto learning the last 16 bars of Mr Sandman. There are some tricky chord shapes to master. Hoping I will be able to achieve minimum level of fluency for my performance this month. Cheers!
This month I’m going to take advantage of the harmonics course provided by RC101. I’m new to this technique and have been wanting to learn this technique properly for a while. I aim to work through all exercises and etude provided in the learning modules no later than the third week of the month and this should provide a good foundation for me to tackle the capstone piece. I will evaluate my progress and performance at end of each week and post questions if I’m stuck. The goal is to post my performance of the capstone piece and if time allows, the stretch goal would be to get started on learning Mr Sandman.

Hello Rockclass. This month I enjoyed learning Christopher’s jazzified arrangement of It’s The Most Wonderful Time of the Year. I struggled memorizing the entire piece and I couldn’t really play and sing at the same time so I enlisted a reluctant house elf to sing the performance for me. There was a section of unintended improv at the of the bridge because I was blanking out 🙂 Here’s my rendition and happy holidays!

@The_Bumble_Bard Thank you for your tip. I see what your are saying. Playing with feel and not thinking about it. The instrument and me need to become one! The challenge is sometimes I feel my uke don’t listen to me 😂 cheers!

Happy Thanksgiving Rockclass! I enjoyed learning Fingerpicking Etude no.22 by Evan. It’s such a beautiful melody. I would like to use more dynamics in my play but it’s been very challenging to do. Appreciate any tip you have. Thank you!

Game of Throne Theme was the song that drew me to Rock class platform at the first place when I started learning Ukulele many years ago. It was way over my skill level to play then. I’m so glad it’s come full circle and I’m finally able to play this song in this month’s challenge.

Missed my last two challenges and really happy to get back to the challenge again.
Here’s my performance on Mika’s arrangement of Mad World. Still a bit more practice needed. I can’t believe the entire song is based on 2 variations of just Fm and B flat chords to create this beautiful melody.

I can relate to the countless NG takes. I had so many NGs my left wrist is now hurting and need to take break so as not to risk getting RSI. Something new for me this month is I recorded my performance sitting down. (I have always played/recorded standing up). It felt a bit weird at first but I soon enjoyed the extra lap support.

@The_Bumble_Bard enjoyed your performance this month. You have so much creativity and what a beautiful love story.I’m just glad there are 31 days this month compared to February. Even with the extra days, I still felt short on time. Initially I wanted to challenge myself to learn the triple picking technique but bailed half way as it was taking more effort and didn’t want to risk not finishing this month. I will have to learn this another time.
