rebecaParticipant@planetfink – well done! That sounds great!
@sgwarren – uke is really addictive isn’t it? It seems that a lot of people playing ukulele come from a long term relationship with guitarMay 21, 2020 at 3:22 pm in reply to: Participate in the May 2020 Member Challenge – WIN a Kanile’a Tenor Ukulele! #37913

rebecaParticipant@sgwarren – Anxious while playing are you kidding? That sounds familiar to me but your playing just transmits the opposite:incredibly expressive, linked, fluent and effortless. Brilliant performance! Congratulations!
BTW Would you mind telling me how many years you’ve been playing ukelele? Have you studied music or played another instrument? Just curious! 😉

rebecaParticipantthanks everyone for your encouraging words!
What helped me to learn this technique was thinking of it like a tripplet strum with two fingers. My next goal will be making it sound softer.
Now it’s my turn to sit and enjoy with your performances! 😊

rebecaParticipant@andrew – Yep! to be honest I wasn´t sure about sliding that note. I finally play it that way because I was trying to emulate the performance but this doesn´t seem to work in the same way with high G and I’m probably sliding before time.
Thank you for your feedback and your kind words!
@rickeymike – Thank you! you are working on the same tune! I´m looking forward for your performance!May 7, 2020 at 11:39 am in reply to: Participate in the May 2020 Member Challenge – WIN a Kanile’a Tenor Ukulele! #37636
rebecaParticipantThere was no doubt for me. I had to choose this one since It was love at first listen.
Here´s my attempt of “Out in the north” in a high G Uke, unfortunately I don´t have one with low G.Take care and play Uke!

rebecaParticipantHi again|
I posted my entry of “Hone a ka wai” a few days ago. This one (Loke lani) is just for practicing and sharing and because I had seen the tutorial about triplet struming and this was an excellent opportunity to put it into context.
Btw, congratulations to everyone I´m truly amazed

rebecaParticipantAndrew! Thanks for your comment. I really appreciate it! You’re absolutely right with your indications. It’s difficult to give accents and expression while one’s still struggling with finger positions and trying to project a clear sound. That’s what I’m trying to do and your advice help me a lot. I’ll take it into account and I’ll keep on practising.
