rebecaParticipantHi uke community! I´m amazed by everyone´s talent!
This is my first serious attempt of doing something original so please consider it as a first step. I´ve little idea of musical theory. I basically tried different things and saved those I found more pleasant. I also tried to give everything a sort of structure. I didn´t use any specific song as a reference but I´m sure I unconsciously took some element from tunes I´ve been playing or listening to.
rebecaParticipantwow! I love the sound of this! super clear, calm and smooth. you also put emotion in your performance and absolutely kill the harmonics! I could hear your performance for hours.
A big applause for you and thank you for sharing. 🙂

rebecaParticipant@Andrew I´ll have a look at that lesson. I´m sure It´ll be very useful and I´m really interested in practising dynamics. Thank you for the feedback! 🙂
Well done everyone! I´m enjoying your performances a lot.
Btw, it seems that this month Rainbow connection is getting the upper hand. I´m looking forward to more people going with Harvest moon. I love watching other people playing the same tune I chose and I also think that this is an excellent weay to learn.
Take care and have a nice summer.

rebecaParticipant@Stephen – That’s true. I hesitate when I’m coming to a section where I tend to make some kind of mistake or awkward sound. I’ll continue practicing until I gain enough confidence.
I really appreciate your feedback. thank you for the positive and encouraging words!July 12, 2020 at 9:24 am in reply to: Participate in the July 2020 Member Challenge – Theme: Vintage Tunes! #39543

rebecaParticipant@Andrew – wow! You make it look so easy! Thank you for your time and your tips. They are accurate and very helpful. My next goal will be strengthen my fingers by following your advice. I need repetition and practice to change bad habits but it’s worthwhile. I’ve no words, again thank you for your help!
@rickeymike @andyrose @sgwarren @miztaken – thank you for your kind words, that encourages me a lot. My uke and this community both have been good friends during lockdown. I’m looking forward for everyone’s entries.:)
@lisadmh – that sounds great! Congrats!June 12, 2020 at 11:49 am in reply to: Participate in the June 2020 Member Challenge – LAST CHANCE TO WIN Kanile’a! #38606
rebecaParticipantHey uke community! That’s me again playing a low G arrengement with a high G uke! I hope there is no problem with that.
This arrengement is super cool! Personally it was challenging for me and harder than what I had expected. One of my weakness playing uke (one of many) is fingering with partial barre. I realize that I have a lot of work in reference to the posture as I experienced fatigue in my fingers while playing this one, especially in bars 23 to 26, not when I played them apart from the rest, but after playing the whole tune I experienced tireness and a loss of strength in my index finger making it dificult to proyect a clear sound. In fact this is the best of many tries.
Btw The tutorial was incredibly useful. You explain everything cristal clear, foresee possible difficulties while playing and also focus on the most efficient way to play.
rebecaParticipantI suggest “The song of the sun” by Mike Oldfield. The melody is catchy and simple but still hauntingly beautiful. I especially love the celtic vibes. I think it would sound amazing on the uke.
