rickeymikeMemberFret Trainer- ooo, that sounds interesting. I guess I have to download it to my cell phone. Maybe I can download to my ipad. Definitely want to try it. Thanks.
rickeymikeMemberOMG, Kanae. haha Is that what yours looks like now? I’m still on the A string lesson. My mind tends to wander and start asking IF-THEN questions. I’m going to try and get through the lessons up until Ode to Joy without the use of tabs. If there is no #s or bs in Ode then I might sing the notes. ha
rickeymikeMemberThanks Andrew. I’m still practicing the A string as we chat. I’m trying to keep looking at the notes to get it memorized at sight instead of what I’m doing now which is FACE, then adding or subtracting letters to find the note. Would flash cards help?
Also from what I’ve learned, if I had a 16 frets, could I in theory do these exercises starting on the 12th fret, then the 13th would be B and 14 would be C and 16 would be D. But all would be in one higher octave?
rickeymikeMemberAndrew & classmates, I’ve just had my soprano restrung with low G. So, I’ll be using it to work through the reading course. Other then having to constantly tune the new strings, I’m finding that once it’s tuned and I begin playing the first exercise, the further I go up the frets on the A string, the notes start turning sharp. I keep the snark attached to see if I fingered it correctly. For example, plucking the open A the snark registers A. Fingering the 3rd fret, the snark registers as a very slight C#, fingering the 5th fret, the snark registers a full D#. This is a brand new set of Aquila strings with low G. Any insight?

rickeymikeMemberCongrats Lisa. Why not ask Andrew to decide what to work on for your lesson(s). I would be in your “boat” too…..not having any idea on what to ask for help with. ha

rickeymikeMemberDeadbuggy good job
lisa Definitely not a basic question It must be super tedious to record twice then splice so that the sound overlaps perfectly…Nice to find a simple way though.

rickeymikeMemberWow. The entries are coming in fast and furious and I can’t keep up. Everyone did one heck of a job. The “you decide” challenge is a keeper because it brings out so much diversity and allows us to choose.
