Also wanted to add, I had a ton of fun learning this song, improving my licks, improv and def trying to get warmer and different sounds even on repeat sections was a big learning experience hope I did well!
Okay so the full song is finally playable. I think overall it’s an okay take not perfect of course especially at the end- I did just learn the strumming part- but I’m pretty happy with my progress. I’d like to spend more time cleaning the ending up.

Okay so here’s the next part of While my guitar gently weeps.Not the cleanest play through I’ve had but my hands were getting tired. I noticed that I’m not letting some of those notes ring out fully, so I’ll try and correct that. Also featuring in the video is my Rat Terrier Tiny who really wanted to break my focus there. She’s pretty needy.

So this is pretty rough but the first 1/3 of the song is now “playable” I didn’t notice how bad the video angle was until after I uploaded it… I’ll fix it on the second video. I plan on learning the next section while constantly cleaning up this first part here.
Ps New Ukulele reveal?
So I just got married! (yay) As a wedding present my friends and family got me a beautiful new Ukulele. In honor of the ukulele I’m going to revisit a song that I had wanted to learn since I first picked up the ukulele, While my guitar gently weeps (Jake Version). The version I’m learning is from the HawaiiMusicSupply video on youtube.
Execution: I really want this song to come out well since I think it’s probably my favorite song on the ukulele. I’m probably about Intermediate level? I have a bad habit of picking hard songs and “learning” them for the challenge but always run out of time and never finish cleaning them up. So Def want to do a lot better on that.
Application: So this song is probably the most difficult song I’ve ever attempted to play and has a ton of techniques I’ve never used so should be a ton of fun. There is also an added element that the version that is being taught on youtube is missing a ton of parts that I would have to kind of “feel” and add in which I think will help on my improv.
Evaluation: I usually record myself pretty often on my phone when attempting to upload the videos for other challenges so this time around I’m going to just break the song down into 3 parts and try and upload each one as I get them down.

So first I’d like to start by saying that I love all the submissions! So I thought this challenge was due on the last day of December and had to rush to learn the song. Lots of errors and you can tell where I didn’t memorize the song.
Also I’m getting married on the 29!!

I hope I got this uploaded in time. I had a lot of trouble trying to get a clean take with the doggo near me. I could play through the song early in the month but never got around to making it clear. Hope next month is cleanerThis is a video of me playing a couple days ago. I was hoping to do some better takes today but I ran out of time. I had some cleaner takes but I choose this one because i was still attempting to do the harmonic. I was having a ton of trouble trying to hit the note with really long nails.

I choose Down by the Bay for this contest. I think I did okay? Something about the melody after the quick strums sounds off to be, probably on my end. I am useless with a pick so I played without it.
