So this is a pretty rough take. I started on this early as my schedule will be changing soon and I’m not sure if I’ll have time to come back and polish this up. It was a fun song though.June 29, 2023 at 11:56 pm in reply to: Participate in the June 2023 Challenge! You Choose: $1,745 OR $2,900 Kanile’a #57993

I honestly did not expect to enter at all this month due to exams and finals but I happened to have “learned” this song when the lesson was released. I have no practiced the piece in months and the recording was very last second but I got a played version out so here it is !

uku_onParticipant@Andrew Hey I wasn’t sure where else to post this. I’ve been making my way through Billie Jean and I noticed that the onscreen tab gets off sync with the playing in the video. It falls about a measure behind around Part F on measure 74 after the second repeat.

@sgwarren Thank you. Believe it or not it was a wedding gift and I couldn’t be happier.
— It’s strange even with one of the “best” ukes there is I still really want like 3 or 4 more different ukes. The acquisition syndrome is strong.-

This song is very catchy and fun. It sounds a bit off on a high G ukulele but I still like it.
I didn’t fully memorize this song which is why I am staring so much. Really enjoyed playing this song though.

OKAY so this song is very difficult and I have no idea how to produce music in a way that makes sense.
Each ukulele part is a little flawed and very hard to get a perfect take atm. I also had a lot of trouble trying to line up the parts so the timing worked. I rushed in some parts and dragged in others but not in time with myself oops. I am going to make this my submission but still consider a progress to Bodysurfing because I do still intend to master this song. Okay rant over.

Okay so this is CLEARLY a progress video because there is a LOT of rough spots. I have a terrible habit of playing songs I may not be ready for but I enjoy it so much. Watching back I need to work on strum timing / transition between sections aren’t smooth enough and I had a lot of ghost notes and accidental notes. BUT got through the entire song. I’m not sure how I want to mix all the different parts of this song together or if I’m going to upload myself playing the backing track yet.

uku_onParticipantJust thought I’d re-upload this song. Am I 100% satisfied with it? Never. It was a tough but fun song tho. I hope I had a little more dynamics added in than my first entry. Excited for next month.

There are a lot of low G songs this month. This is my attempt at Piano and Ukulele Duet. First time playing with a backing track and trying to play a song without playing it along with headphones(I found it too difficult to try and sync the backing track to the play along). I probably should’ve just used rest notes instead of trying to play the low g notes on the C string.January 28, 2019 at 1:38 pm in reply to: Participate in the January 2019 Member Challenge – You Decide What To Work On! #24579
uku_onParticipantLyndallk I just saw your message, actually this is a purely acoustic tenor that I recorded on my old iPhone. Thank you for the encouragement though this song is kind of daunted due to how many great players have done it but I think that’s why I want to learn it so badly. A full playable is now up so I hope you enjoy!

uku_onParticipantRickeyMike thank you! Tbh I’ve never considered having to worry about how I hold my uke, just kind of happens? I think that if you’re working to hold the frets with the tip of your finger than your thumb should naturally stay behind the neck. I’m also playing on a pretty long tenor so it is resting on my knee here. Though I can play this standing there is definitely a struggle
