wongbrownMemberAndrew, I have chosen Scarborough Fair for the Feb Challenge. I start to learn how to play the harmony part. Without the usual YouTube tuition by you, I have difficulties in the LH fingers especially when playing the bar chords of 2 4 5 3 4 5. Also I cannot shift back to 755555 in time. Is it possible that you demonstrate it by a video like as before?
Cheers,
Sheila
wongbrownMemberDear Anne, I am so sorry to hear that your husband is unwell. Hope each new day brings him closer to a speedy recovery and you find strength in this time.
Cheers, Sheila

wongbrownMemberHere is my submission for the Jan Challenge. I still need to work on the left hand stretch. Also I think I should have done it with a slower tempo. I have played the Etude for so many times that I just want to get it over and done with before I get really frustrated.
Cheers/ Sheila

wongbrownMemberHi Andrew, I would like to submit my first weekly practice for some feedback. I was doing Etude No.9 Theme 2 on triplets skills. I can do tempo 100 for now. I found hard to keep the beat when I tried to move my index finger up one string from 2200 to 2220 and also move over to 3350. Please give me some advice. Thank you. / Sheila

wongbrownMemberHere is my submission of Post 1 for the January challenge.
Execution: My January goal is to play triplet picking with correct finger style, good form and be able to play at tempo 115 bpm.
Application: learn from Taimane tutorial as a start. Then use the technique to practise Etude No.9 theme 2 from Rockclass101.
Evaluation: Record from week 3 to week 4 and post for feedback from Andrew before the final submission in week 5.Thank you.

wongbrownMemberHi Miztaken, yes I am doing Taimane’s triplet as well. My problem is when I want to do the triplet faster, my thumb hit the string above. I guess I just have to practice more. Thanks for your advice.
Cheers, Sheila

wongbrownMemberWhen I am practising triplet, I noticed that my thumb sometimes touched the string, one up accidentally. Is there any tricks I can avoid this? Thank you.

wongbrownMemberHi Andrew, I really like the new member challenge. It is more self control in regards to my own personal preference and progress I would like to make. It’s like making a customised learning path for myself. I feel I have a more active role and more committed to practising. Thank you, Andrew.
After reading some of the posts you recommended, I want to have a go with triplet playing. I have two questions:
1. I want to measure my progress on the speed of picking triplet but don’t know what is my realistic goal as a seasoned beginner?
2. What song in the database that I can work on for this? Thanks,
Sheila
wongbrownMemberHi Andrew, I joined Rockclass101 about a year now. It is impressive to see how much you and your team have done. I have not only improved the skills in playing ukulele but a lot of other aspects in music. Thank you so much, Andrew. You are a very good teacher! The passion in teaching and patience you have is priceless.
I really like the upcoming changes for 2019 and can’t wait to see them happen. They cover everything I can possibly think of. Just for suggestion sake, how about an online live jamming session so that we can play together with participants from different parts of the world. Another request(my dream)is whether it is possible you make a visit to Australia for a concert this year, 🤪
