This month I went with Etude 31. The Haunting melody really spoke to me. I wish I had a lot more time to practice it, but it has been a crazy busy month. Anyways…enjoy!

@Andrew Thanks!!!! Bringing my soprano travel uke with me camping. Baritone to soprano should be an intriguing change of pace πŸ˜†!

I tried relearning Stairway to Heaven this month. Needless to say, I only got through half. Summer has been busy and I have been nurturing some other outdoor hobbies, so I have fallen behind. I am posting what I learned along with my video from 2 years ago to show my growth. I played it this time on my Baritone. I leave for vacation Friday so this was the best I could do. Happy to see the improvement after 2 years though! Okay if it doesn’t count as a submission since it isn’t the whole arrangement πŸ˜€

I learned/played Stairway to Heaven 2 years ago….might be time to revisit and see if I can finally do it justice! πŸ˜… Love that song!

@Andrew you are right! I took out my tenor after posting my video and my fingers felt claustrophobic trying to get into position on the frets – was a lot easier on the Baritone in that aspect. Thanks as always for the feedback!

I went with Yesterday this month and played it on my Baritone. I just love the sound of it even though it tends to make songs a little more challenging because of the bigger stretches and chord distances. This take is pretty decent except for the end where my brain and hand checked out for the day lol. Maybe if I have time later this month I will try and record it on my Tenor and see how that goes.

@Stephen Thanks for the great feedback. I just love the sound of the baritone and try to play it any time I can. I will definitely try that new chord position and see if it works out better for me πŸ˜€.

April was a rough month for me. Both my boys were sick (youngest spent a night in the hospital for dehydration – all better now though!) and then I got sick right after they finally got better. I was originally going to learn Prelude in C, but due to not having a lot of practice time early in the month, I knew I couldn’t memorize and learn it in time. I went with Andante no. 2 instead and really glad I did. It is super fun to play and I like the challenge of the finger frenzy aspect of it. I played it on my Baritone so I am still working on nailing the stretch chords, but overall pretty happy with it after this crazy month!

Here is my try at The Explorer. Really, really love the mood of this piece and will continue to work on it. I get anxious playing the beginning and forget to breathe half the time…Andrew, you weren’t kidding when you said it gives a sense of tension! Couple blips here and there as well due to my usual nerves and taking a couple months off from recording myself. If only I could magically record the relaxed versions I play on my couch when the camera isn’t looking. O well.πŸ™ƒ

@sarahd my pinky finger sometimes locks as well when I am stretching it to reach a note. You can see it happen a few times in my Etude in E Minor video. My first knuckle just wants to be straight when I apply pressure with my pinky. I just try really hard to keep my finger curved, but it doesn’t always work out even if I do 😜.

Happy Holidays! Here is my take on Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer. This was a fun one to play and my kids enjoyed hearing me play it πŸ™‚

I also plan on learning Last Christmas because…well it’s WHAM! It will be a good challenge for me and if I get it down I will post that video later in the month.

P.S. I also made a donation of $50 to UKC πŸ™‚ and everyone’s videos so far are great!
