@marianne -so beautiful, especially nice dynamics! I am admiring how you can play this piece on baritone while I cant seem to stretch that much on my tenor ukulele.

Swan Lake 1 and Swan Lake 2 sounded both really cool and fun 🙂 Somehow the metal backing track seemed so appropriate!January 31, 2023 at 4:21 am #56013evapajuMemberI AM A PREMIUM MEMBER
Hello everybody!
Here is my submission for January challenge. I had a lot of fun learning and playing this tune! The result was a bit clumsy, most challenging was keeping steady pulse. Tapping foot with playing only makes it worse. And my left ring finger was getting slow on a faster tempo, like freezing or getting tired? I am happy anyway!
Also have to say how much I appreciate Rock Class originals. Please keep them coming!
And good luck to everyone!January 29, 2023 at 1:34 am #55943evapajuMemberStandard Aquila strings are quite mellow and dull sounding in my opinion if you play acoustically. Probably good for strumming. Aquila reds with low G are my favourite too for fingerpicking.
For second ukulele I would recommend clear fluorocarbon. If you prefer really bright sound then Worth clear fluorocarbon low tension srtings (CL 46) could suit. I prefer at the moment Martin M600 clear fluorocarbon- just enough sustain but also nice warm tone.
Martin also produces premium polygut strings what are very close to Aquila reds but dark grey colour and little bit smoother surface.
Changeing strings are pretty easy and cheap way of changing how your ukulele sounds. Also lot of fun 🙂November 26, 2022 at 8:26 am #54789evapajuMemberWell, after November Challenge I would like to play anything from The Legend of Zelda. Maybe some lovely medley too 🙂

Hello, everybody!
What a fantastic choice this month! I was encouraged by everyone`s submissions and decided to try and record Zelda´s Lullaby. Absolutely magical piece of music and I am so happy to play it!

November 2, 2022 at 6:12 am #54508evapajuMemberHi @clempek – I had really hard time to teach my fingers pluck/strum technique. So I googled guitar technique called “rolling a chord” and found some extra tips and exercises. My thumb is not very cooperative yet too 🙂
Also have to say how happy I am about this month theme 🙂 . I absolutely love all the choices! These Japanese composers just have some edge what makes the music captivating. I literally had tears in my eyes, when I was very first time able to play couple bars of “Zeldas Lullaby”…

June 21, 2022 at 3:31 pm #52372evapajuMember@katazumiri – I really liked Your version of “In The Hall Of The Mountain King”- that slowly rising feel of tension and outro too!

May 5, 2022 at 2:20 pm #51861evapajuMember@pysanky – yes I noticed too small differences between printable and Soundslice version. It has happened before with some other arrangements and I just have been playing the version what I like more. So, I dont believe it is going to be a problem if You play whatever version You prefer 🙂
