AndrewKeymaster@willw18 – Well done Will! The rhythm sounded tight and locked in during Theme 1. Theme 2 was also very good, but I did hear a few bars where you were playing ahead a little bit. So, I’d focus mostly on that section. Try to count the bars/rhythm in your head as you play since most of the hits are whole notes, meaning there’s a lot of space between strums.
AndrewKeymasterWelcome and beautiful playing @kanique. Glad to have you here with us! Wishing you all the best on your journey ahead, filled with healing, joy, and musical inspiration! π

AndrewKeymasterHere are the rest of the folks on page 6 that I haden’t gotten to yet.
@rafaela – Feel was spot-on for STW, well done with getting the technique down, Rafaela! RITR was beautifully played too π
@nelsonlin2021 – Wow, your finesse and ability express emotion continues to grow at an astounding rate Nelson. Keep up the great work!
@jody_hendrickson – Beautifully played, Jody! I do agree with you, this one is better suited for High G. I would target the little hiccup areas as you continue to practice, but it doesn’t sound like it will take too much work, you’ve already got it sounding very lovely. For the memorization issue, try playing only 8 bars at a time. Do not move onto the next 8 bars until you’ve got it down 100%. Then start working on piecing it all together.
Folks on page 7.
@jbmills07 – Another stellar performance, Justin! Fingerpicking sounds excellent and I like your rubato-stylistic approach for the intro. Well done!
@terryfallon3 – Well done Terry! Fingerpicking sounds great! A lovely performance overall. Moving forward, I’d focus mainly on the B Melody. This section changes to 8th notes, giving it the feel that we are going twice as fast as the A Melody. Work towards bringing the tempo up to speed to match the A Melody. Also, double check that section. There’s a lot of little variations thrown in that can make it tricky to get down. Work on 8 bars at a time.Keep up the great work, I’ve been hearing big improvements in your playing these last few challenges that you’ve participated in π
@christianwin – Wow! Absolutely incredible playing Christian! One thing I’d like to bring to your attention is the overall feel of the piece. This is a love song, and we want our playing to reflect a softer mood. When I listen to your performance, I hear a lot of energy and excitement. I want you to try to dial it down a little and see if you can play a little bit slower and softer. Check out this lesson, it talks about this concept in greater detail. And def let me know if you have any questions π
AndrewKeymasterGreat fingerpicking Rick! You were tightly locked in with the rhythm throughout, well done! π

AndrewKeymaster@anyon1 – Awesome job Adriana! I’m not seeing any slipping with the pull-offs, technique looks good to me. This was a really good take! Nice job on keeping the tempo solid! From here, I’d recommend the same advice I left above for @leslieb about omitting the grace notes. Also, double check bar 7, sounds like you’re adding an extra note in the mix.

AndrewKeymaster@leslieb – Your pull-offs sound great Leslie! I’d recommend removing the embellishments (grace notes). For ex, in the first measure:

That would make the opening line much easier to play for the left hand, but also rhythmically. Other than that, I would loop 2 bars at a time and focus on sustain and keeping it steady (tempo wise).
@ldarrow – Linda, your performance was absolutely beautiful! You’re so close, just a little more practice and you’ll have it smoothed out perfectly π
@karenj – Right hand technique and feel were great Karen! Just keep practicing and you’ll have it flowing perfectly! Truly impressive progress, that’s a tough technique to tackle in one month and you’ve got it sounding good! π
@gi_gi_ – Tempo and sustain were excellent Gi Gi! And your P/O & H/O technique was on-point! Very well done this month. From here, I’d work towards gradually increasing speed. Keep up the great work!March 30, 2024 at 4:45 pm in reply to: Participate in the March 2024 Member Challenge: Irish Songs! #61053
AndrewKeymaster@1481632_m – Beautiful performance Megan! Excellent fingerpicking π
@lhamilton – Well done, Linda! I like the effects and you perfectly captured the fun feel of the tune!
