Here’s my attempt at Day-O with a back beat and the backing track.

Here’s my go at DayO. Lots of great entries as usual. @aloooy, I really liked the addition of a back beat, I’m going to try it, hopefully I can post a new recording before the end of the month.

ParticipantHere’s my entry for the month. I’m pleased with my progress but reaching a point of diminishing returns, maybe some pointers will help.

ParticipantSo, I took the plunge in at the deep end with this one.
Still room for improvement but I’m pleased with the result so far.January 26, 2020 at 1:02 pm in reply to: Participate in the January 2020 Member Challenge – Original Music! #35225andrewvh
ParticipantHere’s my entry for the month, just to show I’m trying. Unfortunately I’m sure Grace wouldn’t be able to get to sleep with all the noise in the background.
It’s quite late in the Month but my first post this year, and also the second day of the Chinese New Year, so Happy new year to you all and I wish you all lots of Music success for 2020 and the year of the rat.

Here’s my last entry for 2019, (with cameo from my daughter). Using a bar fingering for the Ddim7 feels easier, I was struggling to get my pinkie in the right place. Personally I’m pleased with the result. Otherwise thankyou Stefen and Rickymike for the feedback on my first entry.
Happy holidays, everyone. See you next year.

I’m finding White Christmas surprisingly difficult. Thumb strumming is new for me but definitely sounds better then the back of my index finger for this song. It’s the first challege I’ve played without music, which is quite liberating but my wife has now banned me from playing the song, at least for a little while. So here’s my first go including a messed up ending.-

Here’s my second entry for the month, – I can’t help falling in love.. . I felt that I that improved my arpeggio strum thing significantly, but since my first video was house of the rising sun you’ll have to take my word for it. As always plenty of room for improvement and tips and comments gratefully accepted. Great work from everyone that’s posted so far there’s a lot for me to aspire to.
So, here it is:

Here’s an early entry, there’s a few mistakes, but I really want to concentrate on “I can’t help falling..” for the rest of the month.
I should probably slow down to get the chord transistions cleaner and I have tried using a metronome. Just as a side note, I couldn’t work out how I should be setting the metronome speed- quarter notes at 90 beats per minute but want a tick at the start of every triplet, and the timing is given in eighths.
As to using a metronome on the recording, I suppose the only way to do this is to use a headphone- but that seems like an overkill for my playing.
Anyway, I’m really enjoying the challenges and the songs, it’s certainly a great motivation to play regularly.

I’ve run out of time, so here’s my second attempt. Thanks for the support and the comments on my previous video. I did try and slow it down but I’m still making the same mistakes and I sped up on the second half.

My first post here in Rockclass101, so, hello everyone. Also, my first you tube video ever.
As to the sound of silence, there’s definitely romm for improvement I hope I can show some when I have my second try.
