I definitely bit of more than I could chew this month with Jump. I spliced in the synth solo, but I still couldn’t get the timing right, even at 75% speed I can’t get my fingers to keep up. I did practice the solo but since it wasn’t mandatory for the challenge entry, I have spared any viewers from having to suffer through my playing of it. Otherwise the rest was one take.
I did enjoy this challenge, it’s an arrangement that I will keep practicing.

Plenty of mistakes in this Beauty an the Beast solo but overall I think not too bad. I’ll keep practicing.

ParticipantThis is my best complete performance of Spanish Romance. I would be much happier with it if I had the best parts of all my takes edited together. As it is, a few hiccoughs but generally accurate representation of my playing.

ParticipantHere’s my go at Take Five. I really enjoyed learning this. I would like to try doing a split screen video with the rhythm section- any suggestions for a free/cheap tool for this for Windows.

ParticipantHere my entry for the month. I chose Santa Fe because it was the tune I most enjoyed not because I thought it reflected my playing level. I was worried that it would be too difficult, but I think it came together quite nicely, and if fact really enjoyed learning it. So, thanks for the challenge.

It doesn’t look like I’ll get a chance to practice much over the next couple of days.so here’s the best performance I managed to record of Evan’s version of the Christmas Song.
Happy Christmas Everyone. See you next year!

Here’s my entry of Puff, the Magic Dragon. I found it harder than i thought it would be. But, I think the Flexibility of my left index finger inmproved with practicing those D chords.

An early entry to take the pressure of. Maybe I’ll manage to improve on this before the end of the month.

ParticipantI found this month’s challenge very difficult, and despite lots of practice I’m not really happy with the recording. That’s probably because I know I can do it better, but unfortunately not all in one go.
Anyway, great playing everyone. Here’s my best take:August 29, 2020 at 3:02 am in reply to: Participate in the August 2020 Member Challenge – Theme: Songs You Requested! #40606andrewvh
ParticipantHere’s my entry for the month. By no means perfect but I think one of my best performances so far.

ParticipantThis is the best take I could get of the Entertainer. There is a statistical probability of getting my right and left hand in to place at the right time to play the harmonics, which is improving but unfortunately for this take I missed the last note, just like last month.
@Stephen Thanks for the feedback last month, about my incorrect timing. I’d been practicing the tune incorrectly for so long it sounded right.June 28, 2020 at 1:34 pm in reply to: Participate in the June 2020 Member Challenge – LAST CHANCE TO WIN Kanile’a! #39134andrewvh

Here’s my attempt at people are strange. Annoyingly I missed the last note, and otherwise lots of room for improvement. I did try using my little finger for those E chords but it didn’t want to play, so now it just hangs around in the air with not much to do.

Here’s my go at Ain’t no sunshine. I’m still struggling with the last two bars despite repeated practice, also I seem to be getting a bit ahead of the backing track occasionally. But I hit that Dm run in bar 32 reasonably well and I won’t have much time the rest of the month. So here it is. Keep safe everyone.
