So tense when I’m being recorded, I feel like I’m going to crack down the middle and shatter into a million teensy remnants of a human.
I really am going to get some decent recording equipment. And workable fingers.
I know; I got some middle measures there utterly discombooberated.
I swear on my life I can play this thing without the weird mistakes and timing when I’m not being recorded. (And yeah, I sound like the guy who says, “I caught a fish THIS BIG.”)

@robinboyd and @lisadmh, thank you! Very helpful. Where I struggle a bit are particular sections, like the first part of “Carol of the Bells.” So many small changes! Stephen mentions a later part as difficult, but for me it’s way easier (memory-wise) because of all the dramatic change-ups.
Just wondering–how many of you guys memorize the songs each month? It’s what I’ve been doing sort of by default, but it sure is a slower process. It finally dawned on me while practicing “Carol the Bells” this month that I might just read the music while recording myself. (I learned “Uke Blues #2” in Sept. and “Puff” in Nov., but didn’t get them in on time because memorizing took so long. I think I’ll still post them for the heck of it when I post “Carol the Bells” soon.)
Is memorizing part of the monthly challenge?
