diannaParticipant‘SkyeBoating’ here too…..taking me back to my roots…such a lovely Scottish folk song…love Matt’s arrangement.
@The_Bumble_Bard I also watched the AI video and was blown away that in 10secs it had created something so intricate and challenging…..But, I am curious about originality since it pulls from preexisting databases of man-made music…..and is it truly inspired or just cut and paste?
Good-luck to my fellow skyeboaters and everyone else on this challenge…looking forward to your submissions.

diannaParticipant@Andrew…..Homepage looks great……with over 700 lessons and 11 teachers, this site is a huge resource for any Ukulele enthusiast. The new homepage has great energy…..it’s exciting!
Well, I was not able to finish ‘I Fall in Love too Easily’ for a March submission….I have all the different parts memorized and ready to go….I just haven’t recorded and glued it all together. It is my intention to finish putting it together and posting when it is completed…..whenever that will be🤪….(definitely not before Easter)…..hopefully, before the end of the year….
@The_Bumble_Bard (by the way have you ever told us how your name originated?). Great Uke submission….can’t believe you were able to pull it off in such a short time…..impressed with the singing….not easy and you did a great job….loved the piano solo! Prayers to you and your family🙏🏼March 26, 2026 at 6:26 am in reply to: Participate in the March 2026 Member Challenge: WIN a $129 Ohana Ukulele #80363

diannaParticipantI’m so blown away by the submissions this month…..and we are only half way thru! @marianne , I don’t know how you were able to memorize and perform so beautifully in just a couple of days…as always your performance is top notch. @Abster you make it look easy! The flow and clarity was gorgeous…well-done! @otzepeng great playing….you accomplished your goal playing steady without speeding up…..that is not easy!….I’m one of the worst culprits of not maintaining a steady tempo…..very difficult….so kudos to you! @The_Bumble_Bard beautiful piano playing…..loved your whispery-singing rendition…..as @Misterbones said it seemed closer to the Chet Barker version….just very cool and inspiring…….and finally @Misterbones…..just Wow! That was just amazing…..probably one of your best submissions I’ve seen. Also, thank-you for all your tips on recording and music. I immediately went out and bought the James Hill ‘Duets for One’ book that you recommended.
This month, I bought a condenser mic which I believe will help with sound quality. Looking forward to playing with it…..I have been working on both pieces…..and I think I am ready to post Winter Glass…..If I Feel confident with Fall In Love too Easily, I might post later….but I’m finding the singing and the solo very challenging….I do already have the chords memorized though….
Please exclude me from the draw this month…..thanks as always to the gang at RockClass101.com for all your hard work!

diannaParticipantCorrection: I spent the month of February🤪

diannaParticipantSo impressed with the submissions this month…….I think the weather in some parts lends itself to hunkering down and practicing…….I spent January with the Tennessee Waltz….I loved Matt Carlson’s arrangement….absolutely gorgeous. There is definitely room for improvement….I may have over used rubato as an excuse for trying to remember what comes next and what my fingers were supposed to be doing. It seems there are a flurry of Tennessee Waltz submissions as this month comes to a close…..just Wow! Great job everyone! Do not include me in the draw this month – Thanks!

diannaParticipant@The_Bumbke_Bard thanks for your kind words….Your submission was probably the best I have ever heard you play…..so impressed!

diannaParticipantThank-you @Stephencox for your insight….harmonics are so beautiful….I will keep at it.
Congratulations @Katazumiri!January 31, 2026 at 11:36 pm in reply to: Participate in the January 2026 Member Challenge – You Decide What To Work On! #79770
diannaParticipantJanuary has flown by….and I guess I’m down to the wire again! Just have to say there are so many amazing submissions…..I’m blown away by the creativity and the talent.
I went thru the harmonics course this month and worked on Amazing Grace as the capstone piece for the course. There was a huge learning curve. Anyway, it is a very cool technique to add to my wheelhouse….I can still use more practice though…..My technique needs refinement….I felt like it was an exercise in ‘chewing gum and walking’ at the same time….I was trying to keep track of both my right and left hand which was quite a challenge!….anyway…better post before I run out of time!

diannaParticipantThanks @Andrew….I re-listened to Evan’s version and could hear the notes in succession ….Wow! Beautiful and impressive😁

diannaParticipantThat was fast….thanks😁….and I see the first ‘’measure’ is a pick-up….👍
The C chord in your version, explained in the video has the one harmonic at the top of chord 3 (15)…..it looks like Evan’s has 3 harmonics in the chord? 3(15)/4(16)/5(17)? Maybe I missed something…..

diannaParticipantPracticing harmonics while the football game plays in the background (and nursing a miserable head cold)……happen to compare @Andrew ‘s version of ‘Amazing Grace’ and Evan’s…..and noticed the harmonic (C) chord in Evan’s version….in the 10th measure. How do you do that? Also, in measure 12 it looks like the first note is a double harmonic?…….how do you that? Thanks in advance😁

diannaParticipantExecution: It took a while to decide what direction to go in…..lots of Uke projects on the burner….and so many things I want to try from RockClass101……but I think I am settling on the Harmonics Course, because I like to get thru at least 1 course in a year.
Application: I have begun working my way through the course and almost decided against it, because I wasn’t having much luck…..but I have had a bit of a breakthrough, and feeling like this is possible…..I have to admit this is a whole new world. Though I have had minimal experience with natural harmonics, I have never tried artificial or tapping ….so there is a steep learning curve.
Evaluation: Hope to be able to use what I have learned and play/post the capstone piece, “Amazing Grace”. At this time I am working on the Etude for Artificial Harmonics to improve my technique. If I don’t get to ‘Amazing Grace’….I will post the Etude.
Good-luck everybody!
PS: Though I’m sorry to see that we will not be getting feedback, I agree with @grannieannie that @Andrew has created a goldmine for Uke players……
