    @TBB – Thank-you so much for this! I love the way you share your process and practice with us….in this video and others…..My take away from this video is to start with the melody…..”bare bones” it….and know it first. Then you “play” around with it and “feel” the way the clawhammer pattern fits onto the melody….the ‘bum’ is the melody note, and ‘ditty’ fills in and embellishes the melody. I think I will practice with simple tunes like ‘Drunken Sailor’ and ‘Buffalo Gals’….etude 5 might be a little more challenging for me!

    @TBB – Strummer Nights 😂……

    @Idarrow, thanks for the recommendation, sounds like a perfect addition to this month’s challenge.

    @Andrew – So cool! Transcribe is exactly what I need. Thank-you! I’m going to try to keep ‘Bury Me’ in my memory rotation. Practicing with this tool will be perfect.

    @The_Bumble_Bard and @leb397 thank-you! I took inspiration from you Bumble Bard….you definitely have paved the way with your clawhammer rendition of Drunken Sailor and your earlier post of Bury Me…..I can see how this clawhammer thing can become a very deep rabbit hole….I want to play more of it! I want to learn how to turn regular tunes into clawhammer tunes.

    @leb397
    I second the kudos for all those you mentioned including yourself….it’s been a great month…. Well done!

    First, I want to say the entries are amazing this month. I have really enjoyed listening to them. So much hard work! I worked on Bury Me Under the Willow because I wanted to work on the clawhammer technique. I picked up this used banjo uke awhile back and have been so excited to play it. Loved this song, so beautiful thanks Chris and Ashley. Not perfect, but I think I’m running out of time…🤪. Also, do not include me in drawing this month, thanks😁

    @jbmills07 that was beautiful! Rocky was the ‘Rose’ to your ‘Jack’……loved it!

    Also, you can’t have too many ukuleles, especially when they are Kanela’es😁

    @jbmills07 – first, I think that was one of the fastest posts to a challenge I have seen…..you must love that song! Gorgeous – goofy smile and all – it had schmulz. The timbre was beautiful….is that the new Uke?

    I second @Idarrow….Congrats to @uku241 for a great performance and winning this months Uke! Well Done😁

    Thanks, @Bumblebard for your kind words, especially since it felt sooooo strugglicious! Did you see the clawhammer option for next month…..another fun challenge.

    And as always, thank-you Andrew for your critique…..very grateful.

    Please do not include me in the drawing this month….thanks!

    I can’t believe in 2 hrs it will already be August! Loved the submissions this month….some pretty awesome playing in our Uke World. I worked on Drunken Sailor. The second I heard Matt play this tune a month or so ago, I knew I wanted to learn it. I love the 3 different levels built into it. The first two came a little easier than the third….the third was a bear….. and I’m still struggling with it! Thanks RockClass101….this was a lot of fun….and even though I drove my family crazy (as usual)….they were all singing Drunken Sailor all month long!🤪. Oh, and thank-you @Bumblebard for the clawhammer tabs…..so cool!

    @The_Bumble_Bard …..that third part is a bit tricky….I get to practice my index finger strum….which is new for me, having always strummed with both thumb and finger……but the chording….eek! Especially the muted notes within the chord…that is tricky!🤪

    @The_Bumble_Bard…..I love clawhammer and would love to be able to turn straight tunes into clawhammer tunes….After I learn “Drunken Sailor” straight from beginning all the way thru the 3 themes, I will come back to your version and try to figure it out by ear….might be a good practice?

    OMG! @The_Bumble_Bard….you transcribed into clawhammer…..I want to learn this, how did you do it?
    So cool – I’m impressed! Also, I think the intermediate part is probably easier than the clawhammering.

    So Lovely. I listened to both the “Memory” and “Over the Rainbow”. I’m very impressed that you are creating the arrangements yourself!
