Hello everyone,
for november challenge I have chosen Merry-Go-Round of Life. Surprisingly, I could remember it very easy. But all month I have tried to figure out the right preassure on strings to avoid buzzing and at the same time not to kill sustain. 😀 There is still much work on it. I would appreciate your advice and feedback.
At this point, I hit my limits. But I think that a year ago I probably wouldn’t have been able to play it. So even though there are mistakes, I’m not sad. Looking forward to more great arrangements here on Rockclass101.Thank you for listening.

Hi, I chose The Hourglass this month. It’s fun to play with a band.
Andrew, congratulations on the ten year anniversary of RockClass101! And thank you for creating this for us. It’s awesome.
Jana
janaq1ParticipantGreat start! Now just practice, practice, practice. 😀
I’m glad I could help.
janaq1ParticipantHello, Mika. Welcome! I’m thrilled that you’ve expanded the group of great teachers here at RockClass101. I know you from the HawaiiMusicSuply podcast. Last Christmas, I scored points with your arrangement of Silent Night. I also love listening to your and Kala’e Camarillo’s acoustic concerts.
It’s great to have you here.
janaq1ParticipantHow far I’ll go – beautiful song and movie too
janaq1Participant1 chord = 2 bars
janaq1ParticipantIf this is not the intention, the third bar should be the same as the fourth bar. Otherwise, the notes are the correct length and correspond to the tablature.
And yes, one chord per two bars. (But I didn’t listen to the whole song.)
janaq1ParticipantThe alignment failed, so I’ll try to add a picture to the attachment. 😉
janaq1ParticipantAs a basic pattern, I would try 4 fingerpicking:
Down strum all 4 strings (or thumb on the g string) for the first beat – counting 1&.
Then gradually strings 3 (half beat), 2 (1 beat), 1, 2, 3 (each half beat).Beat: 1 & 2 & 3 & 4 &
Strings: Strum 3 2 (2) 1 2 3
janaq1ParticipantWow, I love it. Thanks for sharing. 🙂
janaq1Participant@gi_gi_ , @rebeca , @annemarie , @dianna – girls 😉 – thank you for your kind comments. It made me very happy.
janaq1Participant@Andrew , thank you for your kind words. I’m so glad you like the composition. It means a lot to me.
janaq1Participant@The_Bumble_Bard and @leb397 – thank you for your kind words. I’m so happy to be able to share my ukulele playing with someone other than my family and a few friends. With the same enthusiasts and fellow students at Rockclass101. I feel lucky to have found this school and community. There are great teachers here, everything I know I know because of them.
(The covid was, thankfully, short and light.) 🙂-
