jinajupiterParticipantP.s. I miss that we members can send each others personal messages.
It would be nice to have that option restored.
jinajupiterParticipantHey Andrew, I would like to learn some rumba flamenca techniques, like Taimane is using all the time. Or some Venozuelan strums. Like played on the Venozuelan tiple. A very simular instruments, just some strings have different octaves.
Further now that I have a Les Paul uke some techniques for bending and using the pick, but I am not sure if this is the platform for this. Thanks for all I learned in 2019, I started learning Ukulele in April this year.
Because My father passed away that month and I inherited one. It helped me to get through this tough time. I already play key instruments so this string instrument was a new adventure. Within two days I got bored with just the basic first position chords and found Rockclass101. I spent quite some time with the uke and…… now 8 months later I play banjolele in the circus! Happy new strumming year to you all. :).-

jinajupiterParticipantThanks Robin, Rickey, Surfnrz and Cauer2 :).
It’s just reverb and a bit extra high on the Equalizer.
But recorded with a Microphone this time, not direct from the jack output of the ukulele. The flute is just a Soprano Recorder, the one most kids hate :).
But extremely easy to learn.
I spend more time trying to synchronise the video to the audio recording then learning the flute part, but it is fun to do. in IMovie btw.
There is another nice tune here on RockClass called Whiskey before Breakfast.December 16, 2019 at 1:59 am in reply to: Participate in the December 2019 Member Challenge – LAST CHANCE! Win Kanile’a! #34334

jinajupiterParticipantYes nice singing Sue!
jinajupiterParticipantHello all,
I had a question by Rickey how I made my multiple screen video.
I just followed the instructions on the video below.
It’s a picture in picture mode on a background that I saved. Re-imported and then added the solo video on top. Synchronised the two parts. The sound automatically mixes, the chord part I lowered in Volume to make the solo pop out.
I could also have chosen for a splitscreen video, but then the ukelele would not have been visible or I could have chosen for a picture in picture mode.
Like you have with a deaf language interpretator. So a small vid within a larger one.
For IMovie you need a newer version, it didn’t work on my old Mac.
For the audio part, I just used my IPad to record the accompaniment film. Then transfered it with FB messenger to my phone. Used ear buds to listen to it and play along with it. So now I have two films to import into IMovie. Here is the tutorial I learned from
I don’t know about Windows but I understand you need Windows Movie Maker.
And this is the vid that Rickey asked a question about, the split screen starts around 2:00
https://youtu.be/F0OcXTjtBlgThere are quite some lessons and songs here that if you want to make a video of it using splitscreen can be useful.

jinajupiterParticipantThanks Stephen! Whole new challenge in mastering the metal strings! Thinking about playing your Spaghetti song with it 🙂
Surfnrz, so the two knobs closed to the floor are bridge or neck? I didn’t quite understand.December 1, 2019 at 6:45 am in reply to: Participate in the November 2019 Member Challenge – 2nd Chance to WIN Kanile’a! #34023
jinajupiterParticipantSurfnrz, I loved your Bohemian Rapsody! Great timing :). Maybe you can perform the Christmas carol on Les Paul with strong overdrive 🙂 we are in a RockClass in the end. I just received the el. uke a week ago and don’t understand yet all knobs, maybe if you have time you or/and Andrew can explain them? I will start a new topic to not pollute this one to much with questions on the Les Paul.

jinajupiterParticipantThanks Rickey so much fun this Les Paul ukulele I sent you a YouTube tutorial explaining how to do this splitscreen or multiple screen (picture in picture) in IMovie.
I recorded the accompaniment film on my Ipad, transfered it to my phone, used ear buds and played along with my own recording. Later in the program you can layer the two recordings and synchronise them. The sound mixes automatically. You can ajust the volume, I put the accompaniment lower. B.t.w. I played powerchords. (No 3rd)
I am sure there are YouTube tutorials for Windows as well.
I also never heard of this song to be honest but I liked it the best of all four.December 1, 2019 at 6:45 am in reply to: Participate in the November 2019 Member Challenge – 2nd Chance to WIN Kanile’a! #34021
jinajupiterParticipantHey Laurasyl and Mweir1
So nice to hear your performances as well! I found this piece very hard!
And you really did all the taps as well! I found that too hard so I skipped a few.
The intro is easier but less spectaculair with a low G btwNovember 30, 2019 at 7:01 am in reply to: Participate in the November 2019 Member Challenge – 2nd Chance to WIN Kanile’a! #33975

I finally received my electric Les Paul Uke a week ago, so happy!
It’s tenor sized and with metal strings, so it was a bit different.
Further I don’t know so much about effects so I was fiddling around a bit.
Recorded in four takes, beginning till solo, acomapaniement, solo and end.
I wish I had more time to filter the sloppiness out.
And also I would like to play with a pick.
Thanks Andrew and Evan.November 26, 2019 at 5:42 pm in reply to: Participate in the November 2019 Member Challenge – 2nd Chance to WIN Kanile’a! #33880
jinajupiterParticipantWow Brett congratz, that must have been a ton of work!
Rickey so cool your intro. Is this the actual House of Rising Sun? -
