jinajupiterParticipantThanks Andrew,
I will start practicing the first form this week. π
It’s a whole new exiting world to me.I like your advice Call out formula (1 2 3 4 5 6 7) and notes (C D E F G A B). So I can memorise their function in the scale, for other keys.
I asked about the amount of forms because how it is now, if you start upward op the c string in the A form starting on a D you get Dorian,
and same in the G form from E Phrygian etc.
That’s why I wondered two were missing.Yes Am natural I meant as parallel.
Yezzzz thanks again for offering this learning platform. I love it!
I promised myself that if I manage to impro over a simple blues I will treat myself on a Risa el. Uke or something similar this summer. (With a strap π )
You’ll be the first to know. πCheers
jinajupiterParticipantI play Ortega Horizon concert. Very happy with it. It’s made out of Bamboo. I think it’s a German brand. Not only does it look funny with the tuning knobs on the downside of the neck. The sound is very bright and sparkly.

jinajupiterParticipantI found a way! Lifting the fingers like what you see in gipsy jazz so the note gets short and muting the open string with the RH thumb.

jinajupiterParticipantHow do you make the two rests in ‘When I’m 64’? In bar 34. There is an open string and I don’t see anything spectacular happening with the RH. But I clearly hear the rests.

jinajupiterParticipantThanks Andrew for the quick anwer :).
So I will have very much curve my LH fingers on the A7 chord.
I’ll practice that one.
While you were recording your video I experimented with a rope on my ukulele,
(not on myself) like you would use a strap. That worked as well.
Thanks again! Cheers-

jinajupiterParticipantThanks Becky. I think I will get a 2nd so I can change. I would like to be able to solo. So far I have more or less two octaves, it would be nice just to have bit larger range.

jinajupiterParticipantThanks for the feedback, Stephen. I will work on getting my left hand faster so the tones can ring longer. π
jinajupiterParticipantMy prayers for you as well. Practicing when I’m 64 as well. π
jinajupiterParticipantDear Anne, I wish you all the strength you need. I lost my father two weeks ago. Only two days before he started leaving us I received my ukulele by mail order on the 9th of April. I learned a few basic chords very fast and played gently on his bed side.
The ukulele is a great instrument for this situation, very gentle, sweet and consoling. My father also seemed to like it as far as he could react.
He grew up listening Hawaiian music. So I very well understand how your little buddy helped and helps you through these tough times.
All the best to you and take care, Jina
jinajupiterParticipantThanks! Awesome arrangement. π
jinajupiterParticipantHello Andrew and Matt! Nice songs for this challenge! Looking forward to start practicing.
jinajupiterParticipantGreat! Looking forward π
