    Thank you @andrew!

As for the bass part, I didn’t have many ideas of my own. But I have a bass player next door. I just showed him part B with drums as a loop and asked what could be done. He said there’s a lot possible and just played over the loop.
At home I was spoiled for choice, the etude is short and there was so much interesting stuff.
I showed the results of my experiments here and also to the bassist next door. He thinks it would have made more sense to make Part A a bit simpler. And in Part B, to pay attention not only to the drums, but also to the uke (in terms of rhythm).

    Hello everyone!

Here is my attempt with “Etude 32”.

I’m not familiar with old world music. But I liked the combination of the melody with Danalyze45’s drums in the second part. It’s probably far from old world music… I thought I’d try it anyway 🙂

I added drums from wikiloops “Rock backing track 45681” by Danalyze45 (wikiloops public-license). It was too long and fast for me, I shortened it and slowed it down.

    Have a nice day!

@andrew I’m afraid “Swan Lake 2” ended up in spam…

There has been a construction site in front of my house for some time.
First the construction workers used jackhammers.
Then stakes were driven into the ground.
    And I practiced “Swan Lake”…

Stephen experimented with distortion on the double bass.
    And I practiced “Swan Lake”…

YouTube said I might be interested in a video titled “15 STYLES OF METAL (w/ guests)”.
    That surprised me a bit…
    And I practiced “Swan Lake”…

    I watched the video.
Something sounded like construction site behind my window.
    There were loads of distortions.
And in symphonic metal there is even something that sounds like classical music…

    So…
I found drums on wikiloops, “Metal backing track 68170” by rp3drums (wikiloops public-license).
    Distortion comes from Audacity.
Sound is not cosy and now it is not slow.

Here is my second attempt at “Swan Lake”.

On this recording I had problems with A string on tenor ukulele.
There are snarls on the 5th fret. I suspect that strings are too deep for the rest stroke technique. Or something else…

    Have a nice day!

    Hello everyone!

Here is my attempt with “Swan Lake”.
    I think it’s at ca. 55 bpm
    So it’s pretty slow 🙂

    @misterbones

This works much better, particularly the G chord in bar 6 over the out-of-key note.

Well, I’m not sure, but I think we started in A ionian, switched to A mixolydian in bar 6… And if we’re already in A mixolydian, then G chord is perfectly legal 🙂

However, yesterday I just experimented without thinking too much… I hope I’m not wrong 🙂

    Hello everyone!

Here is my attempt with “ML001”.
I added drums from wikiloops “Funk backing track 8933” by Dafunkydrummer (wikiloops public-license). It was too long and fast for me, I shortened it and slowed it down.

    So, here is “Funk Riff”

    Have a nice day!

    Hello everyone!

Here is my “I Have a Little Dreidel”
In the first repeat, as a chord/melody, as Andrew showed. The change of chords is not quite working yet … There is still work to be done.
In the second repeat as a trio 🙂

    P.S. I made a donation of $30 to UKC 🙂

    Hello everyone!

When I went to school, the first computer appeared in our house. In fact, it was a constructor for radio amateurs, which was connected to a tube TV, and programs were loaded from a cassette recorder. We had three games: Tetris, Xonix and Python 🙂 This constructor had black and white pseudo-graphics, there was no separate sound card (CPU pin INTE was used as a sound source). In short, the capabilities of this thing were very limited. Later there were other computers, but I did not have an interest in computer games.

I really liked that this time also piano sheet music for accompaniment were shown.
So, here is my attempt with “Song of Storms”.

    Have a nice day!

    Thank you @Andrew 🙂

I totally agree with you that it makes sense to learn by heart.
At the same time, I feel me like a squirrel from the “ice Age”, which was chasing an acorn.

I know musicians who are good at reading music. Unfortunately, it’s not me.
I know musicians who memorize the harmonic structure of a piece well, they play a little differently every time, not like it is written in the notes, and yet what they play sounds good. Unfortunately, it’s not me.
Most students of music schools cope with learning by heart “the way it should be” … I am doing my best. It doesn’t always work out.

It’s funny. If I get to play with those who are good at reading music, they suggest not to bother with memorization and clearly follow what is written.
And with those who feel harmony well, it’s also not boring, they sometimes change harmony and think that it is obvious to everyone 🙂
