leb397Participant@marlongas beautiful Adelita! Study in Bm very nice too. It sounds like you have an amp attached but I don’t think so. The acoustics are so lovely. Really makes the piece. 🙂
leb397Participant@surferjay that was awesome! Thanks for posting. Would love to try some flamenco. Very inspiring
Seem there just isn’t enough time in my day. I see your post was 3a.m. 🙂 !

leb397Participant@the_bumble_bard thank you kindly. I’m giving my fingers a break today because I truly spent 2 days recording that over and over. My low G Uke isn’t the best and so I had to be careful not to make the strings buzz or twang too much. It WAS a challenge.
@gi_gi you did amazing with Aldelita. I loved it in a slower pace. Made you listen extra careful to hear the next note… cool. Thank you for your encouragement. We ALL need it!
Brazo! Entrants. I’d love to get this tenor uke… 🙂

leb397ParticipantThis is a second entry (doesn’t count). I wanted to get through the Classical course and The Study in Bm was a real challenge for me with the small cord movements. I also made a mistake using a different fingering in measure 8 & 13 (D7) and when I went back to try to unlearn it – yikes – it messed with my head!
I have to give kudos to those that played Adelita – just wow. Well done.
Thanks again Steven for a great course and Andrew mixing up the music in these challenges. So here is Study in Bm – far from perfect but had to try.
Louisa
leb397Participant@the_bumble_bard I love your arrangement! Cool picking sound. You are def improving. So fun watch.
Yes I’m almost ready to post study in Bm. I must have recorded it 50 times but keep hearing dead notes. My fingers are sore. I’ll try again.
Keep posting hymns. You are good.
I spent time review cord progression today. Such a weak area. Also don’t know about you, but when I memorize a challenge song I feel like I’m not learning the “cords” – meaning I can play it but cant tell you the cord all the time. Something I really want to work on. Steven is good about repeating the cord name.
Anywaaaaay…. Keep up the :). 😉 facesMarch 20, 2023 at 4:29 pm in reply to: (NewJeans) Ditto – Ukulele Fingerstyle (inspired by Sungha Jung) #56814
leb397Participant@aukritesp01 very nice arrangement. Not familiar with group but love the rhythm/ backbeat. Thanks for sharing 🙂
leb397Participant@surferjay 😊 I obviously had you confused with another member 🫣 my apologies BUT happy 10 years
Feel as if I’ve over stepped here 🙃
Enjoy NYC
Look forward to more music 🎶🎶🎶
leb397Participant@surferjay love it. Enjoy the groove rhythms and back beat. I was wondering where you were. But if I remember you were married a year ago… ?? family time is important. Enjoy NYC, not far from us 🙂

leb397Participant@the_bumble_bard love the smiles. I have to make a correction that “how great thou Art” is a favorite but it was “be thou my vision” that I learned and love. Has some quick cord changes when I first started playing… love to hear any songs you have worked out.
How great Matt worked at your level. I think I’d be a nervous wreck too. I rarely play in front of family
Sorry about your piano. Get a used keyboard! There are some nice ones these days. However it would take away from Uke time 😉
I’m hoping to post STUDY IN B MINOR. Don’t think I’ll get through Adelina. It is really difficult. Play on !
leb397Participant@the_bumble_bard yes I did hear the “call and response”. I meant to express that clearer. I would get frustrated trying to write tabs. How nice you were able to work with Matt! You obviously have an “ear” for music.
I will def look at How Great thou Art.
Wouldn’t a challenge with hymns be fun??? We did one with Christmas theme. Maybe we could learn yours?
Thanks for input Uke friend.

leb397Participant@dianna and @the_bumble_bard
When I entered my first challenge last April, I put in sooo many hours of practice and then the filming was a huge struggle with 50 takes at least. I was so frustrated I even mentioned to Andrew that the site had “professionals” entering… I had to realize we are all on the same journey and some a little farther along but we all took the same steps. @TBB I like that you are so honest and a previous post you showed your progress with foibles included 😉
@dianna had to laugh at your confession… the fact you have completed that many is great. I have to confess I went back on youtube and delete one of my entries because I was embarrassed looking at it after a few months of improvement!
I keep learning from all of you and it’s so much fun… off to practice. Loving the classical lessons and giving the Study in B minor a shot.
@jgillard sounds pretty perfect to me! First take – amazing
@dividesky very pretty

leb397Participant@andrew thank you!
And @The_Bumble_Bard keep on strumming 😊
leb397Participant@The_bumble_bard Nicely done! I love that hymn. The harmony and response when sung is so pretty. Love your arrangement. I had “how great thou art” stuck in my head when I first started playing 4 years ago but the best I could do is strum the cords… maybe I’ll go back and take another look. I think hymns can be so pretty on the uke. But I love a broad array of music being of a more senior group here 😎
Keep playing. Louisa -
