lhamiltonParticipantHi,
I finished putting together an arrangement and have been working on fitting the uke and whistling parts together. I also had to learn how to record both microphone and uke pickup onto Garageband on the macbook.
Here’s my version of Una Furtiva Lagrima:

lhamiltonParticipantHi,
I’m making progress with my arrangement of the accompaniment for Una Furtiva Lagrima. It works well with the whistling — a bit of a duet in places. I’ve worked out the score using Notion on my Macbook and am now making tweaks as I learn to whistle and play it.
I’ve now got a tool that will let me hook my mic for whistling and the uke connection together into the Macbook where I plan to record using Garageband once I’m ready.

lhamiltonParticipantThanks @leb397! It’ll be interesting pulling together the accompaniment. I did one many years ago on harp but there are serious differences. It’s a beautiful aria!

lhamiltonParticipantHi,
1) Execution – I’ve decided to pull together accompaniment on a low-G uke and whistling for Una Furtiva Lagrima.
2) Application – I’ll work on putting the accompaniment together rhythmically with the solo part and figure out how to arrange the accompaniment to best support the solo without distracting from it.
3) Evaluation – I’d like to have the two portions work well together and sound relaxed and flowing.Linda

lhamiltonParticipantThanks, @Andrew! Yes the B section still wasn’t as firm as I’d have liked. I’ll keep on with it — I’m fond of the arrangement.
I have a Yorkie who is a very slow and picky eater. He eats better though when serenaded — so I find his dinner-time a good chance to play recent ukulele favourites.

lhamiltonParticipantTerrific! Thanks, @Andrew!
I found it interesting how difficult I found the high section — my right hand kept missing the A string on upstrums when I practiced and that wrecked the melody.

lhamiltonParticipantThanks @Andrew!
I played around with the fingering on the third piece to find something that worked comfortably for me. I think I know what to do now to record directly to the macbook from the fully electric uke: plug my wired earbuds with the extender cable into the mac. And — I’ll pluck three notes rather than rapping on the body as my “match video and sound” signal since rapping on the body didn’t record from the direct mac to uke connection.

lhamiltonParticipantHi,
This month I worked on Walking Bass EP012. I couldn’t quite figure out how to hear the electric uke and record onto the mac so I just recorded by placing my little speaker near the recording iPad.
