lyndallkParticipantHere is my version of “Spanish Romance” I decided to use a low G uke mostly because I like the sound of it best and my fingers handle the up the neck work better. So I added a couple of low G notes for fun.
You’ll notice the very romantic Australian birdsong in the background if you listen carefully.
lyndallkParticipantVery nice, well done. I like Sam Muir’s arrangements very much

lyndallkParticipantThanks Brett – I was thinking of trying that, and doing it on imovie, maybe I should just invest in an app that does this stuff. Or maybe I just won’t bother. They are the options.

lyndallkParticipantThanks @annemarie. Not meaning to show off, well… maybe a little… I built that uke. And I love it.
Thanks Steven for your feedback. I do love playing that piece. It took many takes to record to my liking because I get so caught up that I forget where I’m up to!
lyndallkParticipantRiver for sure

lyndallkParticipantSara and Lisa! That’s so quick off the mark. They are the two I will probably do for this challenge. Great to hear both of you on the 2nd Feb!!!
lyndallkParticipantGreat Ricky. You really sang it directly to us which is brilliant. Love the fancy camera work!!
lyndallkParticipantThank goodness for RC101 during 2020 so we had great challenges to take us through. I was pretty pleased with my progress.
2021
1. be more strategic in my practice, particularly with timing which is my downfall often
2. Work out a way to keep up with the songs I like so I don’t have to ‘start again’ when I want to play them again
3. Try and do the monthly challenges, even if I don’t know the songs or if they seem to hard.Good thread @lisadmh
lyndallkParticipantI would love to learn the theme from the tv series “succession”. Cheers

lyndallkParticipantThanks for the question Andrew! So good to be asked. Firstly, what you offer already is fantastic – with weekly lessons and monthly challenges and all the rest.
I’d love to see a class (or a series) on improvising for a solos within a song – some how tos and how to practice and build improvising muscle. In the same vein – I like the idea of how to think about different finger picking techniques to use during a song! I have done a lot of your classes, but I still fall into the same picking patters for each time signature that I’ve always used especially when singing. How to increase your automatic repertoire of picking (and strumming)!
I have to echo others and support you in getting another female teacher (love all you guys, of course). Both having more female teachers is helpful for us as students, does actually give something else to the school, and we have to keep reaching to employ female musicians. Brilliant
Thanks again for a fabulous year when we’ve been at home….
