marianneParticipantAs I had already learnt and submitted Moon Waltz and The Explorer previously, decided to take on Fingerpicking Etude No.5.
What a gorgeous melancholic little tune Andrew. As always, wonderful melodies!
Here’s to you from Lebanon:

marianneParticipant@nthibode, I echo what sir__anzalot said. I have no idea how you are able to sing at the same time as play this piece and effortlessly so. I tried and failed miserably 😂
This is not a simple chord structure/pattern that allows for natural singing accompaniment and it’s filled with syncopation and different time signatures…! Amazing. Dexterity galore!May 24, 2022 at 9:02 am in reply to: Participate in the May 2022 Member Challenge – WIN $6,000 Kanile’a Ukulele #51999May 22, 2022 at 4:39 pm in reply to: Participate in the May 2022 Member Challenge – WIN $6,000 Kanile’a Ukulele #51991May 21, 2022 at 2:57 pm in reply to: Participate in the May 2022 Member Challenge – WIN $6,000 Kanile’a Ukulele #51985
marianneParticipantHi everyone!
What a lovely selection for this month. I will be learning all of them as the arrangements are gorgeous. Thanks RC101 team!
Here is Blackbird. I am the one singing but without showing my face as I am too conscious when I sing and it makes me uncomfortable 😊 It’s a whole lot of fun to play!!

marianneParticipant@Andrew, while I had learnt ans submitted the Theme from The Godfather, I couldn’t resist not taking a stab at The Explorer. Your composition is simply beautiful, and the runs are addicting…! Your brain is wired in a wonderful way! 😀 thank you!
I had to rush the learning as I am traveling (only put 3 days into it), so still not perfect and could go a little faster eventually but wanted to share.
The work you and the team do is absolutely inspiring and uplifting, especially when everything else around us is so grim. Proud to be a member.

marianneParticipantThanks for the feedback @Stephen! And I agree re:the pace. Funny when I would try to slow down, I’d always end up at this speed. And when I did manage to stay slower, I’d make more mistakes 😂 I guess I just need to keep practicing it to perfect it and learn to let it sink in slower.

marianneParticipantHi Rockclass 101!
Had to give St. James Infirmary a try. Evan, it’s just absolutely beautiful…! You are truly impressive. Your smile while you perform is also such an inspiration. Makes it look effortless. @Andrew, a great lesson as always. Thanks!

Hi everyone,
Lovely performances! I had to learn Moon Waltz not only because it would be my first tune on the gorgeous baritone (yay), but also because it’s a beautiful and relaxing melody. Thank you @Andrew!
Going from a soprano to a baritone was quite the challenge in terms of getting used to the shift in distances/neck length as well as the ergonomics of holding the instrument, but so worth it!Marianne

Hi everybody,
Here is Pineapple Uke Blues. This was by far the most difficult yet most fun piece for me so far.
Not perfect still (didn’t have enough time to really get the last part fully down) but couldn’t pass the chance to submit this crazy fun tune. I am proud to have challenged myself with this advanced piece.
I took the liberty to change up measures 19-22 by adding more rasgueado.August 25, 2021 at 1:50 am in reply to: Participate in the August 2021 Member Challenge – Theme: Fingerpicking Etudes! #48073 -
