@andrew Andrew, I forgot to mention my donation to UKC, I have a recurring donation every December to them, thanks to you partnering with UKC. My donation is $50 every Christmas.

I chose one of my favorite Christmas Carols- Away in a Manger.
I loved this arrangement, so simple and beautiful, yet NOT without challenges!
My fingers do whatever they want even when I have the piece memorized!!
I used my brand new Hollyland Lark A1 wireless mic for the first time. I put one mic on my sweater and the other on my Uke. I think it sounded pretty good but probably only needed to use one.
    Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukah! enjoy

I am barely making it in time with this entry! All through October and the first half of November, I have been studying for and attending a certification class for my profession and I didn’t get an entry in for October. I have only had a handful of days to work on the easiest song from November’s challenge. So here is a very rough version of “Morning Dew” Etude # 25.
Looking forward to Holiday songs in December! I think I have mine picked out already!😜
    Happy Holidays all!🥰🌟

I am working on “Don’t Worry” by Bob Marley.
I will try to get the riff in and sing.

Ex= playing with a metronome so I don’t speed up and also for the timing of the singing. I’m also trying to get that reggae beat on 2 & 4.
App= practicing the song for campfire 🔥 sing along at our mountain camping trip with a group this week. Playing/jammin’ helps and is so much.
I have been referencing different online ukulele teacher’s versions and going to go with one that teaches Bob’s original key (I think) of A. The riff is harder though. This version is taught by Stu Fuchs of ukulele zen (can I say that??)

I have been following your guys’s conversation over the Hollyland A1 microphone. It sounds like a really cool little piece of equipment! I’ve been looking at it at their website and on Amazon and I am considering buying the one that has two microphones with the lightning for the iPhone and the USB-C. It seems like it would be very useful to reCord when you’re out and about and I could even use it with my grandkids because they love to make little movies on the iPad. Can you have 2 mics paired to 1 receiver? -MJ

@Andrew – so funny that you should ask that ‘cuz I just finished another video of the song and planned on uploading it. This was my 10 take and the best. I kept in my major blunder where I restarted in the middle section. This time I plugged into the iRig adapter then just into my iPhone and the sound was pretty good still. My camera angle is NOT great, sorry🤨

@Andrew – thanks! I got out some old equipment that I need to start using again. and Garage Band has more than enough variety for me. I don’t have the time to learn/use more difficult recording software! My Lanikai concert has the EQ so I plugged into the iRig adapter, straight into my phone, then transferred to my Mac laptop. I used one of their acoustic filter settings. Now for technique- I have trouble getting clear technique the measures w/ fret 14-12-17 playing. I had it down in practice but not when recording and trying to stay in time. Any other advice other than keep working on it? 🤪

So many great songs to learn this month and so many wonderful performances!!
I picked Summertime Swing which is a fun happy tune written by Andrew and taught by Matt, thanks guys!! I wanted to record outside to get the summer vibes going but it has been sooo hot here that I had to wait till 8pm to go out in my yard! Well, I started to lose the light and get bit by bugs! I plugged by Uke into an iRig iPhone interface and was recording audio in Garage Band 🙄, trying to use equipment and experiment😵‍💫. Before I got eaten alive or irritated the neighbors, I went inside and continued to record audio in Garage Band. I had a little fun with the video and was able to sync the very last part with the last video I recorded. Enjoy!
I will keep working on this nice tune and use it as a “pocket” song 😝.

Ok… so many mistakes… but I have had fun trying to learn this Bass (Han) Solo Star Wars theme music! (see what I did there?😜) But I am OUT OF TIME! I made a lot of progress these last couple days, I will keep working on it!

I wanted to work on U-Bass so I chose EP008- Bossa Nova U-Bass with Stephen. I only got up to 60% speed. I recorded my practice session yesterday, and decided to use this cut for my entry, due to the month almost gone and I have been busy with work and had limited practice time.
I am a newby on Bass and need lots of work on technique (buzzing notes😬). I’ll keep working on it and see if I can get faster AFTER I get my technique and timing better. 😜
I also need to get out the recording equipment that I have and learn how to use it. 🙄
