    Travis Picking Etude – ML023
I’m really enjoying this lesson and this picking practice. I still have to get it up to speed and without pauses but it is 2:30 am here! we are leaving for the airport in about for the Azore Islands, Portugal! I’m so excited. I have been having trouble with my sound, every time I recored my practice, there is lots of static and weird background noise, so frustrating! I sound like I’m underwater so I made it look like that too! Hopefully I’ll be on the beach unless than 24 hours.
    Happy Summer! 🥰🤙🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼

@the_bumble_bard -great job! Kudos for working an original. I haven’t tried to do that in sooo very long! Keep working it and it will get better. It’s amazing to me that anyone has to “work on” and practice an Original, but it’s the truth, nothing comes that easy! I have “noodled” at melodies or progressions but then completely forgot what I had done!😩

@Andrew I have a similar question as Johanna, except I am wanting to play “Mad World” (I love this arrangement BTW) on my Romeros Creation spalted mango Tiny Tenor, which is lowG. I think I can do this if I play the HI-G note that comes up many times, on the E string 3rd fret (same G note)??? Are there any other problem areas that won’t sound right???

@Andrew thanks for the feedback and ideas for singing for “Clocks”. I love RC101!
I’m not good at giving feedback to other people here, but I enjoyed listening to everyone’s versions of the songs. Great job people!

    “Clocks”
I think I had too much coffee today because my fingers were so jittery! We were out of town last weekend for a family “Wake” or “memorial” and forgot to grab my Uke as my hubby was pressuring me out the door!!😜 I could have had more days to practice. ugh!😩
Anyway, this is what I have done so far. The ending is almost impossible, needs lots of work!
I love this song and will keep working on it. I would love to work this finger style version in with a singing version. Any suggestions on how I should arrange that???

@Andrew – thanks for the tip about the index finger barring. I was having trouble getting a clear sound at times and didn’t realize I was bending the knuckle!

wow! a great choice of songs! They all sound great but I already printed “Clocks” last week when the lesson came out! I also LOVE Steven’s U-Bass arrangement for Come Together! it is probably way too advanced for very beginner Bass ability but I will probably try to learn some of it just for fun but NOT as my entry. Thanks again for all the great lessons!- MJ

    Finger Picking Etude #13
I was so glad to have this piece for April because I really needed to work on it more.
I didn’t do it justice when I tried it a few months ago.
I certainly didn’t have time to tackle any of the amazing harder pieces this month.
I made good progress this time but always make mistakes when the record button is pressed!!!
    Thanks Rock Class!

Hope you all had a beautiful Sunday! I celebrated Easter with my daughter’s family so I didn’t get to finish my video and post it in time. I worked on Red is the Rose 🌹 and I loved it although it is VERY challenging! I’ll keep working on it.
    Peace ✌️ and 💕
I have enjoyed all your submissions! Great job everyone!
Thanks for the challenging lessons RC101 family!

Well, I wanted to learn a more complicated finger style piece that had more TRAVIS picking but I took to long to decide so I had to pick an easier piece. Which is NOT easy for ME. Feb. is always a complicated month for me and I had to complete some Continuing education for my Professional License as well. So I ended up with the lesson for Finger picking Etude #13. I still have LOTS of mistakes but this was my best take out 150😝🤓! Thanks for the lessons Rock Class! I should have skipped this month but I’m trying to be consistent and do a lesson and submit a video EVERY month. We’ll see how far I can make it.😜 I am at my record now, 5 months and counting!

I’m still trying to decide! too many choices! I think I am going to do something in the Irish/Scottish genre. I’ve Been wanting to learn more in this genre, so I’m looking at the selection in RockClass101 lessons. I’m getting close to making my selection! 😜

Ok, here is my final version of “Spanish Romance”
I am almost there but not quite. I am continuing to work on it. I hope to get up the courage to play this piece for an open mic session at “Strum In The Desert” hosted by @BernadetteTeachesMusic this weekend, down in the desert in the far south end of California. I have much more work to do
but believe me, it is soooo much better then it was last week. I did do some more practice videos last week but forgot to post them and I can’t stand to watch them now!
I worked with the tab viewer for the “tricky bits” and with repetition and then rest, I improved.
    thanks for the lessons @RC101!

I thought I posted this practice session on Friday but it must not have gone through.
This is me practicing 2 of the many tuff transitions in Spanish Romance. I still have a lot of work to do 😜😍
