@Andrew – Thanks for the encouragement! I’m a slow learner, but at least I can see that I’m learning and improving! I am getting a bit better at practicing with the tab viewer too!😜 – MJ

My version of The Haunted Uke –
I didn’t want to do this song because I did it last year and I wanted to challenge
myself with a harder song. So I started working on The Hourglass but didn’t have much
time to master it due to trips away with family who didn’t want to hear me dink around
on the Uke! (their loss 😜)
Soooo, YESTERDAY, I watched my video from last year and it was very BAD with the timing.
I started relearning Haunted Uke yesterday and I feel it is 90% better than last year!
I didn’t have time to add filters and extra Uke parts but I’m mostly very happy with 2 days
work on this song! Thanks for the lesson Andrew!

@nat-uke -thanks. I’ll be carrying my uke through an airport like @gi_gi_ did last month! We’ve been planning this trip for a year and a half! If I can’t post this week, then I may post when I get back which will be the day before the deadline! 🤪

Yes, that stonewashed Bamboo is so pretty! I am leaving on Sept.10th for cruise in Europe (YAY) so if I can get one of the songs done and in this week, I’d love to enter. I am bringing a ukulele with me but I won’t have the time to record or go online. I may do the minor Blues Jam but I am loving all the other songs as well. The Blues Rock Riff and Summer Nights, especially. But, sadly, I have NO TIME! Have fun and Uke On!!🤙🏼🤘🏻

I love this song “Fields Of Gold” arranged by Matt Dahlberg! I only have one HiG Ukulele but it was perfect for this song. I plug it into and amp so it would be louder. But it is hot here in NorCal so there is background “shushing” noise from my fan!
this has been another busy hard month with not enough time to really get this down but I will keep working on it.
I almost had it all memorized but my brain disconnects when the recording starts. 😩
I start the song, get half way and then I restarted it. ugh!
@Andrew- I know you will tell me to practice with the tab viewer, but sometimes it is so hard to practice with it! But I’m trying…😩

    “Beginner Blues Strumming”
This song was easy enough for me to master (mostly) in one day 😜 The ending riff was challenging though😍 Loved it!

    “Spice Up Your Rhythm”

I tried this lesson but I need more time to master. It is very challenging for me.

@Andrew – thanks for the tip and encouragement! That G5 was the hardest chord transition in that whole piece. – MJ

    FINGERPICKING ETUDE
I was only able to work on this over the last 2 weeks. Almost memorized 😜.
I never got past the slow version, practicing with the Tab Viewer at 60% speed.
After the first video, I attached an attempt to go faster but without the Tab Viewer- LOTS more mistakes! My brain and fingers were tired!

I’m a Premium Member but I guess that doesn’t matter for this month 😋
I’ve been working on the Celtic Etude and the “thumb” thing and fast pull offs are very challenging for me! I loved the challenge though. I have issues with my left hand so my wrist became very sore after working on this piece for a few weeks and A LOT over the last couple days!🥸

Etude #3 played on my Ohana Baritone with Tenor Octave strings (GCEA)
I practice this Etude on my Romero Tiny Tenor and my Lanakai Concert but I really like how it sounded with the octave tenor strings!

My right hand fingers go their own way on picking song like this, that’s why I wanted to practice it. I didn’t get it right at the beginning of the video but I kept playing it until I almost got it all right!!😜

I did my best since being sick but here is my terrible “God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen” chord melody.

Here is my version of Haunted Uke. I needed to pick an easier song because I was not sure how much time I’d have this month. I chose this song because I needed to work on playing along with someone else in time.
I still made lots of mistakes but this was the best cut of the lot!
I also worked on lining up 3 tracks for this video and it went surprisingly well, which is usually NOT the case!
I really enjoyed this cool song, with it’s “ethereal” feel! I am wearing my butterfly stuff… sorta of a costume… 😜
