I was happy to donate $25 to Ukulele Kids Club, and thanks RC101 for for also contributing to this worthwhile charity!
Song Suggestion for next season: Mistletoe and Holly, by Frank Sinatra. I love the chords in that one, and struggled to figure it out. I think it would sound good on low G uke 🙂

I always thought if there is a repertoire of etudes for ukulele, Andrew’s Fingerpicking Etudes are a staple among them! Each having a specific focus, they are also great stand alone pieces. Here is Fingerpicking Etude No.17, which I found very relaxing to play. I concentrated on softer dynamics, going for a chill performance.

morrieuke1ParticipantHere is the debut of my new ukulele, won in the July challenge. It is a Kala tenor uke, complete with plug, built in tuner, and set up low G. Thanks to Andrew and Mike at uke republic, it plays beautifully and I am so appreciative!

morrieuke1ParticipantHere is Picnic on the Porch, an original composition for ukulele my son William helped me compose! I tried using Campanella style by allowing the “g” and “a” open strings to ring out in the melody. We hope you enjoy!

morrieuke1ParticipantMalagueña, take 2!
I decided to relearn Malagueña, one of my favorite arrangements. I first recorded and learned the song 3 years ago, for a monthly member challenge. I decided not to listen to it, and begin relearning. This recording is a little slower, and the B theme, minus a couple misses, has more style and feel, I be;wife in part to the slower tempo. Very interesting to listen to my two takes and their differences, seeing as I learned them both from your video Andrew. Looking forward already to the March challenge, with so many good choices!February 4, 2024 at 6:39 am in reply to: Participate in the January 2024 Member Challenge – You Decide What To Work On! #60541
morrieuke1Participant@mysticrick I appreciate your kind words. Thanks for listening!

morrieuke1Participant@bibilele, thank you, I enjoyed January Mood-so catchy I want to learn it! It would make a great duet, with one player playing the chords, and the other doing the melody part.
@sarrafina, great arrangement, and well played I’m impressed!
