Here is my first ukulele composition, Heavenly Light. It is in A B A form, going from G Major, to the parallel minor, and then back to G Major. I have always wanted to try composing, and this challenge held me to task. I am enjoying following everyone’s progress this month! Mike

Thanks @Andrew, after 3 drafts, and many edits and erased measures, I have come up with the final version of Heavenly Light! Now to practice and record. Attached is the notation. I hand wrote it since I had trouble getting the tabs in Finale to be correct frets. My version of finale is a bit older, maybe that’s it. Anyway, here it is and I will work on practicing and recording it.Draft #2 of my composition Heavenly Light. Here is the B section in the parallel minor (Gm) still a work in progress…

Execution:I have never tried to compose a song for ukulele. This month I am going to try and compose an original finger-style arrangement. I am going to try to model my original melody around form (A B A) with the Major-minor parallel such as Lagrima.
Application:I am going to try and tap my creative side, and see what I can come up with. I would also like to chart the melody. I have some experience with the program finale, but never with ukulele so I am going to try that as well.
Evaluation: kept plugging away, charting ideas, and see how it comes together week to week.

I picked Little Trouble in Big China this month, I was drawn to the In scale, such an interesting song and great composition-thanks Drew. AJ nice job on the performance track, I enjoyed playing along to it. ~Mike
Summer Nights, not by John Travolta or Van Halen-even better-written for ukulele by Andrew Hardel! Happy vibes in this mini song, which in my opinion would be worthy of expansion. Tricky middle measures in this one, thanks for teaching Matt.
