ParticipantHere is my final of Misirlou. Still have that clicking sound and so I am far from mastering the tremolo technique. I will continue to practice using Matt’s previous suggestions. Thanks Matt. Outstanding job done by everyone this month. Many impressive performances!

ParticipantHere are a few measures of Misirlou, which demonstrates the trouble I am having with the tremolo technique using the thumb nail. Although I have been practicing this for quite a while (long before this month), I cannot eliminate the clicking sound I get, as is evident in this video. Matt does address this clicking problem in the Live Lesson on How to Tremolo Pick on Ukulele, but I still can’t eliminate the click. I believe the thumb nail is plenty long enough. Any ideas? Thanks.

ParticipantI have been contemplating what to work on for this month’s challenge and time has been slipping by. I almost joined the claw hammer club as that looks like lots of fun and something I always wanted to do. I also thought to continue my efforts on Always With Me. Stephen’s arrangement is superior to any other, in my opinion, strings, piano, or otherwise. But I fear a month will not be enough time to reach any level of proficiency on it. So, I have decided to go with better proficiency of the tremolo technique. I didn’t have enough time to work on Misirlou a few months back, so have settled on that for this month.
1)Execution – I consider myself an advanced beginner in general. I would like to achieve a tolerable level of proficiency with the song by month’s end, and thereby also improving my overall tremolo ability as a result. I plan to practice the technique and song at least 30 minutes each day.
2)Application – Tremolo will be used in Misirlou.
3)Evaluation – I will be continually evaluating my progress with the month end goal in mind.

I made a donation to the UKC-a good cause. (I will email details to Andrew.)
I am definitely over my head with “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas”. Waited to last possible moment to publish to benefit from more practice, but it is still a work in progress. Sorry for the jingling/clanking at beginning, but my pup (15 years old) decided to finish his latest meal just then.

ParticipantThanks for the comments Andrew on the September Monthly Challenge. I know that I typically have too aggressive of a right hand attack and have a difficult time trying to tone it down. At your suggestion, I practiced a lighter touch on Strumming Song: The Blues which I have attached to this message. I do believe I still need to lighten up more. I also redid September’s Minor Blues, attempting a lighter touch, which I also included. I appreciate any follow up. Thanks!

ParticipantHere is my attempt at Minor Blues Jam. I just know I could get it down, say within another month! Ha! But, I will keep working at it with any and all feedback. Thanks.

ParticipantHere is my attempt at Fields of Gold. I found that the sound is better recording with my phone than with the computer. Thanks in advance for any critique.
