rickeymikeMemberRobin, I’m so with you on that ‘pretend musician’ thing. If anyone asked me to play something off the cuff, I would die on the spot! And too bad I missed the live “memory” session. That’s my biggest downfall (unless I play the same piece every day for the rest of my life, NOT)
Jina, your advice is priceless. I may get up the courage to play a solo at the year end gala of my senior learning community.
rickeymikeMemberIs that Herb Albert? How long ago was this video?

rickeymikeMemberJina, so cool. It almost looks like my playing but with a speeded up video. LOL
Lyndal, Robin, Tiff, That’s a “keeper” picture. And you’re right, Miz, so nice to see all smiles.
rickeymikeMemberSuch a sweet sound that comes out of your playing. So,so smooth. Keep up the good work!
rickeymikeMemberVery, very nice, Robin! Looks like you had the forearm of your strumming hand anchored down on the arm of the sofa. Did it keep you from drifting? Looks like a great way to keep the elbow from falling.

rickeymikeMemberJust watched the lesson. It was very good, Matt. Love to see more on this topic and especially the “filler stuff”. I recognize filler on piano numbers and it does so much to fill out the song just like Matt says: between the lyrics/melody notes. There must me some “tricks” that pianists/musicians use over and over again for those fillers…….
rickeymikeMemberIn each of the palm flat scenarios, I have no problem lifting the middle finger. but the ring is difficult to lift just a cm with the middle finger tucked in. With the pinkie tucked under, my ring and middle move simultaneously and in unison.
rickeymikeMemberGreat vid, Kanae. Yep definitely cool but I may not be ready for it yet. One thing though, if I had picked the baritone to start with 2 years ago………I would have been very satisfied although the instructions to play and song tutorials may have been much less.
rickeymikeMemberBecky – you are definitely not alone with this problem. Mine also do not want to work independently of the other. It’s a matter of practicing over and over again. I’ve got to the point where my ring finger can work somewhat independently but I still have a worse problem with my pinkie. When I want to use my pinkie independently, that darn ring finger always wants to tag alone. Just keep at it.
