anyon1Participant@The_Bumble_Bard I love the clawhammer sound on the Path of the Wind. I think I like it better than the original piece! I’ve been meaning to work through the clawhammer lessons, but I haven’t gotten to it yet. Thanks for the inspiration!
@katazumiri The addition of the bass ukulele was great! What software are you using to get both videos displayed/synced like that?November 14, 2023 at 6:57 pm in reply to: Participate in the November 2023 Member Challenge – WIN $935 Kanile’a #59435
anyon1Participant@The_Bumble_Bard Thank you! And thanks for listening!

anyon1ParticipantHi All!

Here’s my submission of Path of the Wind. I used the chorus effect with the Flight Soundwave System. While it’s still rough in spots, I thought the effect added a bit to the mystical feel that the song has.

anyon1ParticipantI’m sorry to the original winner, but I’m thankful to have won! I love the look of the ukulele and can’t wait to play it!

anyon1ParticipantHappy October!

I chose Morning Dew since I need to work on my hammer ons and pull offs. I still have difficulty hitting them consistently, especially at higher speeds. Measures 6 (that pull off to the 1) and 8 (pull off from 7 to 5) were particularly challenging for me even though I slowed it down a bit.
TIA for any feedback!

anyon1Participant@andrew Thanks for the feedback! I took a look at the picado technique and tried it with the Syncopated Speed Picking piece, and it definitely feels like a more natural movement for my right hand.

anyon1ParticipantHi everyone!
Here’s my September submission. The speed picking part was/is a big challenge!August 19, 2023 at 2:52 pm in reply to: Participate in the August 2023 Member Challenge: WIN Kala Ukulele! #58421
anyon1ParticipantHi All!
Here’s my entry with Fields of Gold. I bought a new microphone to record with and found that it really picks up any small sound. Now I really need to work on not having my fingers stick to the strings so much!

anyon1ParticipantHi Everyone!
Here’s my take on Margaritaville. I chose this one since it’s a fun summer song, and I wanted to challenge myself to memorize an intermediate arrangement in the few weeks I won’t be travelling this month. I was able to learn the piece, but I need to keep at it so that I can pick up more speed and smooth over the rough parts. Thanks for the fun arrangement!

I tried the Syncopated Funk Strumming mini lesson for this month. I love syncopated rhythms! I feel like it still gets away from me at times, but it was fun to work on this with my electric ukulele.

I started the month working on Rhythmic Variations but quickly realized I did not have enough time to get it down. There’s a part in the video where Andrew encourages us to take some creative liberties, and I found I was getting very creative in trying to adjust the piece to what I thought I could accomplish this month! 🙂
I took a step back and worked on Strumming Song.

I thought I’d try an intermediate piece for the first time this month. Here’s my attempt at Fingerpicking Etude no. 32. I love the melody! I had to slow it down to about 80% but still found it quite challenging!

anyon1Participant@lmdlinda I liked the piece with high G! It sounds great!
@denisedistefano I never would have guessed you’ve only been playing 2 months! That was great! I wonder how many uses you’ll have by the end of the year… 😉 -
