Mainly just working on If I Fell now. (Almost out of time actually so I kind of have to get on that now.)

Still doing exercise type things but they’re not exactly songs and probably not what you meant by “practice list”. 😁 (but it’s stuff definitely on mine lol) I was also tasked to learn the basic chords in the key of G all over the fretboard, I started in on the jamming coarse finally, it’s making me go back and learn stuff I skipped or learned kind of half-baked… (Censored for family lol)

Working on, or stuck on, a handful of songs still too. I REALLY need to focus on my left hand stuff for a few months now moving forward. So yeah got a lot on my practice plate.

    Fun topic though!

    Kirpuff that was great!

Tim- I’m working on the same song. Don’t give up on the tune btw, you will probably get a lot from it. My version doesn’t sound as good as kirpuff’s either, I’m still trying to figure out how the song even goes in spots lol. Anyway if you like the song learn it!!

Thank you, guys. I’m trying to get the rest of If I Fell, down so I can record it, then i’m gunna get back to this. 🙂

Going to see how a pocket full of change works to sub out for the tambourine. (It sounded cool in my kitchen. No clue what a mic is going to actually hear lol) I want to use the djembe to get the kick drum with a beater sound but I might play with electronic drums if it hurts. Friend will sing, conditionally, with me… So im definitely going to try to fade into his voice with backup lol. (That’s not cheating since I need to sing WITH him. 😉) And if my computer hasn’t crashed at that point i’ll export that and I want to play with some more electronic stuff at the end. (Because it’s fun lol.) Too much info I know, but that’s the plan because it has a lot of room to add stuff.

    Hotmilktea-

My thumb was killing me last month from the bar chords. I think i’ve either got the beginning of a callus now or I caused some kind of nerve damage where I press on my thumb. I’m leaning towards a callus because of the way it feels now, but I feel for you.

I have kind of hitch hiker thumbs and the end joint bends back some, (actually quite a bit) naturally. I suspect some of my issues came from me pushing back this joint more then it’s used to being pushed.

I kind of skipped a lot to get where I am now… I really just need what kind of scale to look up and learn. I can probably figure out the notes, key and probably the mode from there which is kind of dumb and backwards I know…

It’s kind of my jumping off point actually learning scales and chords.. (there’s a lot of different scale shapes I think?)

You know I’m all for stupid amounts of research and work at theory, but I need someone to whack me on the head with the Captain Obvious stick I guess, a few times with this one…

Woah Robin, 😁 I’m talking about the acoustic part. Knowing what she’s singing would be pretty cool too (I’ll look into those transpose programs/ apps) but I need the scale shape? or kind? I guess, to make finding the other notes easier, and it goes a little lower than low G can at the end so I have to figure out where to go up instead…… That probably makes no sense.. But yeah, the song’s a little old I guess, never heard it till the other night. It’s sooo fun to play though!

Ricky- NO! NOT instead of! 😱 I’m learning so many obscure songs I don’t know already! And The Wall is as classic as any Beatles song! Don’t be hating on my request because it’s powerful. 😂 (Or I’ll change Dream back to Spanish on you! LOL!)

    Question for you two.

How hard is it to bend the living water strings? (Up at least a half step?) I actually really like the Pepe Romero strings that came on the tiny tenor but they’re like steel rods.

OK since I know you hate cliche songs here’s one that isn’t so much. (And if it is, cliche be darned!!)

Goodbye Blue Sky – Pink Floyd

A fingerstyle arrangement for low G would be amazing and uke-able. WE (I, lol) NEED a good Floyd song…. Please, please, please?

(See? Pretty. And doesn’t sound too hard.)

Ricky had an assortment of advise typed but I got logged out and lost the reply.

Too lazy and kind of bummed out to type it again but try long sleeves first see if that helps. If it does then (see below)

You can use a cut sock which probably won’t last long or one of those sweat band things or a towel or pot holder maybe to pad it out though till you find out if you’re doing something wrong. The arm sleeve thing keeps you from sticking to your uke or leaving gross arm gunk on your finish in humid or warm weather anyway so it’s useful regardless.

I started out using NCH Wavepad and Audicity. NCH has a mobile device app for recording. Audicity is probably only for PC. (Both are free.)

I’m currently using the unlimited trial of FL Studio 20 on PC.

FL Studio has a mobile app too I think. I have no info on it though. I don’t own a smartphone. The app might be free and fully functional.

If you use an I-thing, Apple has great software for recording. Garage Band is one, can’t think of the nice sounding premium software name for Apple-Only other one offhand….

These will only let you record and play with your recordings btw.

If you can afford it, I say buy a Zoom. I want one. The people using them have really nice sound!! And they can go anwhere…. AND they look like sick tazers. 😉 Seriously though they are amazing things, and they can handle multiple tracks. (Looking like a tazer of death is a huge draw for me though lol.)

    Not sure if that helps

Andrew- The ‘If I fell’ link leads to A thousand Years. (When I click it)

Lakeside – I’m not sure there is a correct format? I’ve uploaded .wav and .mp3 to Soundcloud. I think mp3 is a smaller file size. Both those files work inside Audicity and NCH if I need, or want, to play with the files more.

I’m just using the cheapest recording equipment I could find. (still learning how to use everything.) I’m currently playing with FL Studio 20’s (I think it’s 20 anyway?) trial version of their DAW.

Not sure if that answers your question.

Joe150 – in YouTube, once you have a video uploaded, there will be a button under it called share. you click that and copy the link. Then come back here and paste that link into a new line in a post and your video will appear here.

For soundcloud it is similar. Once you upload your audio go to your name on the upper right and select ‘tracks’ If you click in the track you want and push the share button under it, you link it the same way as the YouTube video.

    Hope that helps!

Lizbun -You need to tweak your video I think, it’s not showing up as accessible.
