Here’s Loke Lani complete with flubs and hesitations. It’s a pretty tune, but I cannot lie…I’m happy to be moving on to the April challenge.

Hi, friends! I initially started working on Lágrima but realized with my very slow progress, I may not get the fingerings down by the end of the month. So I switched to the waltz which had its tough spots of its own.

I had a bit of a head start with this month’s challenge. I got Aaron Keim’s Clawhammer book last year and practice out of it now and then. Still, this song was no walk in the park. There are a few gnarly bars near the end which I’ve looped and looped the past few weeks in an effort make the fret hopping sound smoother. Haven’t quite gotten there yet, but I’m having fun trying!

Thanks, Andrew! I remember seeing your comments to Lyndall’s initial video and thinking I really need to make an effort to use a slow tempo when I do my recording. Intentions, however, didn’t get me very far. I will keep working at it. And that walk-up…I could feel myself getting sloppy when I practiced that as well. I should’ve listened to my instincts and spent more time with that part. Thanks, again!

This was a fun song! Still working on my left hand form–old habits die hard. I memorized the piece, but the curse of the record button causes my mind to go blank, so I had the sheet music in front of me.
