coffeemugParticipantHi!
I AM A PREMIUM MEMBER.
My intention here was to flick more and strum less, but after looking at the video I may have accomplished the opposite. 😬
In any case, thanks for the fun lesson, Steven!
coffeemugParticipantExcited about this lesson. Thanks, Andrew.

Please excuse the raggedy t-shirt, I’m trying to dress the part.

coffeemugParticipantThanks for the kind words, Stephen. I am trying to adopt “slow down” as my new mantra.

coffeemugParticipantDeadbuggy, what took you so long to post?
coffeemugParticipantOhanas are quality ukes. I have an Ohana Concert mahogany that I really like.
I second kanae’s advice, and I like the idea of a video call. Maybe Mike could also so play it along similarly priced ukes so you can compare and contrast. Granted the sound channeled through any device’s speaker may not be the best, at least you’d get the gist of how an instrument sounds.

coffeemugParticipantHi!
I AM A PREMIUM MEMBER.
I had a blast learning People are Strange! I tried to get a cleaner take than this one, but I found myself going down a rabbit hole of recording self-torture so I stopped. Transitions are rough…well, a lot of things are rough. So impressed with the beginners who tackled this song. I’ve been playing for a few years and I found it challenging. All in all, though, a fun experience.
Thanks Rock Class team!

coffeemugParticipantWow! This is fantastic!
coffeemugParticipantI have a plastic Outdoor Ukulele soprano which I really like. It’s very durable. No, it doesn’t sound like a wooden uke but it does sound like a ukulele. I initially bought it for traveling and camping. Most of the time I leave it in my car. It’s great for traffic jams. When I’m playing it I never think “this isn’t as good as my mahogany uke,” I’m just happy to have a uke to play. I never worry about it getting too hot or wet. (Also no need for a case.)
Good luck with your decision!
