ParticipantHi All,
Awesome summer challenge! Really wanted to learn Free Fallin’, but I am just to Zelda minded nowadays… (Do not know what Nintendo did this Month to ignite that :P)
I also did Song of Storms 2 years ago and really did not do it much justice then. So good time to record it with a new Low G uke and a bit more experience 😀Premium Member

ParticipantGood effort everybody, so many nice performances!
Finally did the redo.
Never perfect, often too fast. So many thoughts rush through my head when I play slower 😀
I tried till my fingers hurt, but this song is one I will always practice on my uke. With kind regards,
Jayton(Do not know if I double posted, had some issues with editing and resubmitting)
The old version:

ParticipantHi All,
Time to revisit one of my favorite renditions on a ukulele by Steven, Always with me.
I still listen to Stevens performance regularly, so I need to polish mine!
Original recording is from Nov 2023, and I looked up Andrews comment:… From here, I’d put the majority of your practice time into the first half of Verse 2. But I’d also suggest practicing this piece at a slower tempo while monitoring tempo (keeping it steady throughout). Try this approach: work on one section a day. Bit size chucks help a lot for smoothing out harder tunes like this one
…For some reason, I had a voice in my head saying the second part sounds nothing like what it should =). Time to work out the kinks!

ParticipantHi All,
Premium Member.
Had so much fun with Feliz Navidad, great arrangement!
Initially I thought it would be too advanced for me, but I just had to learn it. =)
I tried many times, but keep making little mistakes.
Like in the song: Wishing you A Merry Christmas (in advance)!Jayton

ParticipantHi Everyone,
I relearned Etude 25 – Morning Dew. Trying to do it more justice, compared to 1 year ago.
Actually had to learn it all over again =), but I just really like this relaxing little tune.
I do not play this ukulele enough, sometimes I just get lost listening to that low G.Grt,
Jayton

ParticipantHi,
Loved the challenge of Blue Moon, initially thought it would be out of reach… but I learned a lot in the process and it made me practice a lot this month! Thanks.

ParticipantI learned Clocks this month, so catchy I could not resist =)
I found the chord changes sometimes hard, good thing to isolate and practice more…

ParticipantHi all,
Premium Member here.
Here is my try of Always With Me. I instantly needed to learn this song, when I saw it on Steven’s youtube channel 2 years ago. That performance blew my mind on how a Uke can sound (in capable hands) =).
Luckily he simplified it a bit and I was finally able to learn it.
The tip of my fingers hurt of al the attempts on getting an ok performance.Super fun challenge, thanks!
Regards,

ParticipantHi,
Here is my entry of Morning Dew
Premium MemberI really liked the tune and the focus on hammerons and pulloffs.
Also got the chance to play more on my Low-G 😀
Those distractions with all the nice Ghibli tunes were harsh, though 😀Grtz,

ParticipantHi,
Loved the challenge, especially playing to a backingtrack and the editing =).
Even with an easier song it is really getting used to. I had a rushed start but think I settled a bit afterwardsPremium Member
Looking forward to December’s challenge!Regards, Jay

ParticipantHi all,
Here is my attempt to Yellow Submarine, actually did not now the song that well (except for the iconic chorus). But had to give it a go as it is the only song, this month, that has a themed Lego set.
I messed up the ending, but the 20 takes after this were worse…Premium member
Looking forward to the June challenge!
