kanae926ParticipantI’m working on Hone A Ka Wai for April. I do have a YouTube channel, but none of my videos are public. I only make them available through the links I post each month, but I can tell you that I’ve entered 14 of 21 months since joining the site. April will be my 15th entry and June will be my 2-year anniversary with RC101. 🙂
You’ll just have to wait until I enter this month to see how thoroughly ordinary I am. 😂
kanae926Participant@yooki-h, your playing is already sounding great! 👍🏻 I’m not entirely a beginner, but I’m definitely not at Bodysurfing level and just looking at the music is intimidating. I might have tried two bars and quit. 😅
I hope you both join the monthly challenges as they’re a ton of fun!
kanae926Participant@sgwarren, have you checked out the learning paths? It’ll give you direction on where to start and focus on.
@yooki-h, there’s a course here at Rock Class on tackling the fretboard and learning chords up the neck through the CAGED method.I hope this helped. Happy learning, guys! 😊
kanae926ParticipantOkay, I’m not sure what happened to my reply, but I got an error asking if I was sure I wanted to do that. LOL.
ANYWAY, what I was trying to say was…thanks for sharing the great video. It definitely has some great tips and reminded me of how I’m making these mistakes daily. Haha!

kanae926ParticipantLágrima was quite a challenge. I don’t think I’ll ever be able to get one clean take of it from beginning to end and since I don’t have any editing chops, I can’t frankenstein together the perfect take by mashing several parts into one great play-through. It’s funny how I would mess it up in different places every time whether it be buzzing, muting, or string noise…and let’s not mention trying to get that tricky harmonic in time or increasing sustain with all that finger frenzy happening. 🙁
Anyway, the ending fell apart while playing Melody A the second time. Let’s just pretend I played it as well as the first time. 😉
I hope you’re all staying safe and healthy, uke friends!
kanae926ParticipantI’m using Chrome (on a PC) and was able to get the metronome to play on all three tracks.

kanae926Participant@gaevdl – Low G is already annotated on the sheet music (albeit somewhat small and easy to miss). C tuning is high G. See examples attached.

kanae926ParticipantWow, Sara. So beautifully played. You make that look easy. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

kanae926ParticipantBecky, that’s me with my index finger right now. I have to consciously remind myself not to have it sticking up. Your analogy is spot on. 😂
kanae926ParticipantThe Scientist! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
kanae926ParticipantI looooooove Green Day’s When September Ends! ♥️

kanae926ParticipantIs that piece already available? I can’t find it. Where is the link supposed to lead? I’m confused…help!

kanae926ParticipantAw, thanks, Robin! I’m glad you can see improvement in my playing. Sometimes I feel like I haven’t progressed as much as I’d like over the course of an entire year, but of course, I’m my biggest critic. 😏
