Someday, I’m going to stop procrastinating and post early…but today’s not that day. 😉

My cat decided he was going to be playful and come make some noise to distract me as he usually does.

P.S. – Congrats on exceeding the UKC donation goal again this year! I love this community. I made mine through my work where they match qualifying donations, so it goes twice as far. ❤️

I just saw a YouTube recommended video of 6 year old Feng E (he literally looks like a baby) playing Somewhere Over the Rainbow. The best part is the comments. 😂😂😂 then I got sucked into the YouTube rabbit hole.

That sounds like it has Matt’s name all over it. 😂 He’s a big Star Wars fan.

Andrew, Congrats on a successful and awesome 2019! This site has been the sole reason I have progressed as much as I have since joining in 2018. I love the growth I’ve seen in my musicality as well as the site curriculum and teacher diversity!

That being said, how do you feel about running periodic votes on upcoming monthly challenges (either theme or a couple of the song choices)? I think it will encourage more participation if we can get popular choices into the mix once in a while in what people want to focus on for the month.

I wholeheartedly agree with Robin on getting overwhelmed with some of the courses. I’ve started a few but only managed to finish the beginner course. That, and I have a short attention span. 😝 But the mini-courses sound manageable.

Thank you for bringing back the live lessons! I really like that Matt is so relatable and easy to understand. My favorite part is being able to interact in real-time if we have questions or comments. Please don’t ever stop these!

Thank you for all you do! I’m excited for the awesome-sauce you’re bringing in 2020. 😊

Wow, Nathalie! What a great contrast take to Ray’s performance, but equally enjoyable with a different feel. I love how relaxed it was…sounded bluesy. 👍🏻

Hey, @reneemur! There really is a lot of great content on RC101, so I get what you mean by being overwhelmed. Have you checked out the Learning Paths? It will guide you with where to start and give you direction on where to go depending on your (approximate) level.

What’s really helped me is participating in the monthly challenges – it helps you focus on a song until you’ve learned it. And once you post it in the forum, Andrew provides feedback on what you did well or could improve on. That alone has helped me tremendously in my learning. Also…it’s really fun. This community is super supportive and there’s a lot to take away from watching others participate (and reading the feedback they receive), too.

I hope to see you participate in a challenge soon!

For what it’s worth, I saw what Ricky mentioned in my PC on Chrome but I don’t see it on my phone (also Chrome).

Can we talk about how crazy good this cover is? It’s mesmerizing.

Well, that was a fun, Sara! It put a nice little hop into the tune for some holiday cheer. 😄

Greensleeves is a traditional English folk song that was originally written as a love ballad back in the 16th century before it was adapted to a Christmas carol in the 19th century…if that helps you disassociate it from What Child is This.

I’m usually the opposite from most people when it comes to Christmas songs – I don’t care for Christmas itself, but I LOVE Christmas songs (go figure).

    Hi, uke friends!

So here’s my November challenge submission with the debut of my Kala thin body concert. It’s the first low G piece I’ve learned on it since getting it 14 months ago. Haha! It’s been quietly waiting its turn all this time and it’s a lot more resonant than you’d expect from such a thin body.

Anyway, the performance is far from perfect and although I have a lot of gripes about it (as always), time’s run out, so here it is in all its imperfect glory. As much as I loved this arrangement (it’s beautiful), I’m ready to move on to December and ALL THE CHRISTMAS SONGS.

    Which one, Robin?

I was hoping Greensleeves would be made and it was, so I started to learn it. But then White Christmas also just got released and I love that one too! This Friday, I think Blue Christmas is coming out.

    I love all the Christmas songs…I can’t decide!! 😂

If it was blocked for copyright issues before it was unlisted, you might have to upload it again to YouTube as a new unlisted video. It’s weird that no one else’s post so far in the US has been blocked. :\

I’d really like to see it. 🙁
