ParticipantAndrew, thanks for feedback. I do feel a need for working on bar chords. Not just the form, but I do not believe I have developed the needed strength in my fingers. During my practices I always play ‘Dream a Little dream of Me’ a few times to help with that since it uses many bar chords. I will take your advice and and the walk down section of “into the Maze” to help improve form. I was really nervous as it was my first participation. Was really fun and I see how beneficial it is in many ways.

ParticipantAm excited to try to learn Spanish Romance. This is one I have been hoping to learn but all that I had found so far required an alternate tuning (which I really don’t want to do for just one song–I only have 1 instrument and usually when I practice I am playing around with a couple of songs and etudes to try to develop different skills as I am a very fresh beginner. Thus, alternate tuning is not practical for me). Looks like this one uses standard tuning. Thank you for doing this and making it an option for the monthly challenge.

Participantthank you for this question and also for the instructions for enabling this feature. I have also been struggling and wishing for a count-in. guess I should probably watch the video on using the on-line tab as there are probably many more gems in it that I don’t know about.

Participant@amaddi, that sounded wonderful. I am still considering posting my first video. Just finished the beginner course last month and have been practicing into the maze. But as I watch others posts, I feel I am still not ready to post a video yet. You did a fantasic job.

ParticipantThank you kanae926. It is a solid wood instrument. I had only had the first one for three months. Would not think that would be long enough for the opening up, that is why I was thinking that it might be strings. One of the people I had listen to them described as “the fist sounded like an instrument and the replacement like a toy.” Could also be my inexperience in playing. They have said the would send another for me to try. They are being very understanding. I only just beginning to learn this past October and I am loving it so much, I don’t want anything effect me in such a way that I would not want to pick it up. Am loving the tutorials here. Am only a basic member and look forward to signing up for premium when both my husband and I are working again (darn coved). For now I am taking advantage of the free lessons. Thanks so much for your thoughts on this.

ParticipantI have been playing the replacement all evening and have decided to send the replacement back. It just does not sound as good to me. I am hoping they will try to send another, but if they don’t I have decided that I would rather have one with a hairline crack that I LOVE and enjoy playing than one that I will always be dissatisfied with. If I don’t love it, I am not as likely to pick it up and practice. Thanks for your thoughts, will let you know how it goes.

ParticipantThank you, the replacement does not sound bad, so I don’t think it’s a dud, it is just not as pleasing as the other to me. I just got the replacement today and am comparing it to one that i’ve Been playing for a couple of months. Am hoping it may just be strings that need to be worked in. My husband can not hear the difference, but I can. Thanks for your reply.
