leb397ParticipantMy first try at an intermediate challenge. In the Summertime is such a great song and I tried to do it justice but so much practice and video takes, this was the best. HOW DO I STOP the clicking sound from my fingers??? Tried to strum softer on other takes and turn/flatten Uke more. Andrew, a previous entry had “chucking” and you made suggestions then – it’s funny, I tend panic when I do it… so funny. ANY W A Y.
Everyone did awesome and it only inspired me to try more.

leb397Participant@turkgoose WOW 👌 👏 just in awe of this month’s posts… I guess I better practice some more before I post Summertime. Louisa

leb397ParticipantLoved it @mark1256. You set the goal for me! I’ll be attempting it myself as my first “intermediate” entry.

leb397Participant@Andrew thank you for pointing out the changes/mistakes I made in Etude13! Yikes, I just went back and replayed the whole lesson. Not sure how I missed the sliding on strings between notes… sounds better your way (ha). Appreciate the detail and time you give to critique. Thanks!
PS do you post the link when you pick winner 🙂

leb397ParticipantThis is my second post with Etude #5 and attempt to travis pick. It is a slower version but eventually, maybe these old fingers with speed up. Of course, I too have a video fear (like many say) and getting a good video is hard without mistakes.
Thanks again Andrew.
Only count one entry since I am posting two… overachiever… ha haAugust 31, 2022 at 10:51 am in reply to: Participate in the August 2022 Member Challenge: WIN Bamboo Ukulele! #53449
leb397ParticipantSo impressed with the entries and stepping up their “game” with location shots! I started with Etude #13 so I’m posting it first but I REALLY wanted to learn Etude #5 for travis picking. What a challenge, so I will post it after this one. Andrew, all the lessons are a real challenge and it has truly been a journey learning. I watch the other posts and often think – “Ill never be as good” but then, it’s all about the joy of learning for me. THANK YOU Andrew for inspiration with RC101. Louisa

leb397ParticipantMy Aura Lee (Love Me Tender) entry. Took a while to learn the strum technique Andrew. I like the added emphasis. I need to practice more with it.
Really love this months entries with CRAZY and STAIRWAY… such talent out there.
Thanks again Andrew for the variety. P.S. enjoy your summer break in August… I hope to work on Mungo Jerry – In the summertime! Remember that 70’s summer ;} LouisaJune 20, 2022 at 7:18 pm in reply to: Participate in the June 2022 Member Challenge – WIN $6,000 Kanile’a Ukulele #52365
leb397ParticipantTHIS IS MY SECOND TRY – In the Hall of the Mountain King
I already submitted my entry but was very unhappy with finished recording. It hurts my ears listening to it! So here is another go using a metronome. 😎June 12, 2022 at 8:17 pm in reply to: Participate in the June 2022 Member Challenge – WIN $6,000 Kanile’a Ukulele #52328

I have learned so much with the challenges and feel each month has given me more confidence. I apologize up front – I created a duet with In Hall of Mountain King and it isn’t perfectly in synch. I’ve never done a video like it before so “check” for another new experience. Lots more to learn and room to improve… Thank you Andrew for all your comments. KUDO’S TO ALL FOLLOW ENTRANTS – SO IMPRESSED WITH YOU!

Congratulations on engagement. Anxious to hear it. I too am torn. Not “excited” about a couple but need to start practicing asap!
Good luck everyone. Still want to learn other Beatles songs. Not enough time in my day 😩May 25, 2022 at 9:54 am in reply to: Participate in the May 2022 Member Challenge – WIN $6,000 Kanile’a Ukulele #52012

SO Hard to record something decent . Another challenge for me and room for improvement. Comments welcomed. I’ll practice more but second half of May leaves little time. BTW I couldn’t get the tempo with my thumb for the “trumpet solo” so I used staccato technique I learned in April challenge Minuet in G. Louisa
