This is not so much a resolution as a one year plan.

I’m going to keep my set list of 14 songs alive and playable. I’m going to add at least 8 new songs to it-including at least one original and at least one level 3.

Plus dynamics. I want to learn to get some dynamics in my playing.

And be more like Rickey Mike. You’re right ukukelly. Wet should all strive to be more like Rickey Mike. 😁

Hmmm. Now I have to think of a resolution. Last year my new years resolution was to put the toilet paper on the roller. Looking forward to giving up that chore on the 1st! Maybe I’ll use the found time to play more uke.

    I AM A PREMIUM MEMBER.

I really wanted Father Figure, but it’s a short month with a 24th cut off, plus I was out of the country for a week, and that is not a song I can learn in 2 weeks. It’s super fun and I’m glad to have it in the list but it’s kicking my butt!

So much to the anguish of my partner I’ve worked on the First Noel (to make it up to him I now have to learn Paint it Blacker, lol).

I didn’t thumb strum it. I’m trying to work on my multi string pluck. I really struggle with getting equal volume on them. It’s a work in progress…

Thanks guys! My set list in order was…

    1. Beginner blues – did well
    2. Etude 12 – did well
    3. Etude 1 – did well
    4. Red is the Rose – skipped the hard theme and did a weird half theme repeat but it wasn’t noticeable to anyone who didn’t know
    5. The Sunshine Rain – an original I’ll share here soon. Did well
    6. Uke blues – did well
    7. Seven nation army – skipped the high theme as I struggle but not noticeable if you don’t know
    8. Here comes the Sun – got stuck in a weird loop in the final theme but not noticeable?
    9. Title Pending – An original. Did well
    10. Waimanalo blues – did well I think
    11. Ode to joy- did well
    12. Allegro – slow but did well
    13. St James infirmary – did ok. It’s a tough one
    14. Etude 13- did well

I left the set list at work but I’ll type it out tomorrow. I had everything memorized. I had my tablet there just in case I totally froze but I didn’t even open it. I was impressed when I went through and listed what I can actually play. They’re piling up!

There might be a few seconds of video, but not much. I’ll check on that tomorrow too.

Thank you Andrew for all you’ve taught me on here! I realized today just how much I’ve learned in less than 2 years.

And thanks to the rest of you for being such a supportive crew!

Thanks miztaken! I certainly didn’t do perfectly but I think it was good enough.

One of my fans requested AC/DC. So I’m checking out the video for Thunderstruck and nope, I’m not requesting that of Andrew. Jeeez, level 20 for sure. I’m appreciation some songs in a different way these days.

Thanks Malter. I’m convinced at this point that the sound is the same. I’m only holding out on durability. Throwing it in a suitcase, in an airplane, on a beach… Will I regret not upgrading. Amy sense of durability compared to also a waterman? Or ukudelic is technically what I have now.

Robin, nice beach! Looks great for the Uke.

Robin are your beaches warm? We have some around here but they’re subject to freezing at this time of year, sigh. I fly for a cheap Cuban getaway once a year. Went just last week. I miss palm trees.

Lol, Becky your beach sounds worse than mine!

Thanks for all the tips and folks! I’m happy with my little set list. Getting them right on the first take isn’t really a thing though. Lol.

    It’s short, informal, I’ll be fine. Breathe…..

I might print out a nice big rock class logo to display!

Thanks! It does look interesting. But I’m looking for something I can play on beach vacations, so splashing is a definite possibility. I agree this would work for most other uses but I think I need plastic. 🌴🌴🌴

Lolol. I work at an addictions place so I think that would be frowned upon.

We’ll see how amazing it turns out………

Hmmmm… I’m still thinking carbon just for the potential strength. Suitcase, ability to put it in my suitcase in an airplane? And I like black…. So many decisions!

Thanks suzums! Very helpful indeed. You don’t think the carbon adds anything in terms of durability? I was leaning toward that one, but could save a few dollars if it’s not worth it.
