lyndallkParticipantWell I like your version Robin – and frankly everyone who tried Moonlight Sonata. Very impressive and such a marathon! So many sore thumbs out there……
lyndallkParticipantI still love this

lyndallkParticipantThanks Stephen. I do like this piece. I think I’m going to be a bit of a classical uke person now. And thanks to both you and Andrew for all the feedback. I find it really helpful to read what you write to others as well.
Bring on April as there won’t be any ukulele festivals or national folk festival or Passover or Easter celebrations. So I’m really ready for another challenge.

lyndallkParticipantHere’s my version of Lagrima! Had a lot of fun. The biggest challenge was trying to get rid of the squeak on the wound low G. I almost did it! So quite happy about that. Of course I could always change it to an unwound string. That would be so much easier.
Thanks for the challenge Andrew as usual

lyndallkParticipantThanks Andrew. Good challenge. Looking forward to hearing Robin’s version if moonlight sonata knowing he’s been working on it!

lyndallkParticipantI enjoy coming back to the site to catch up on everyone’s submissions. I love the compositions
Lisa – Glad your partner got a look in – its an excellent first partner song! Lovely
Wow surfnrz that’s so great. Such a good feel. I like the little solo in the middle and everything else. Good luck with the surgery
Anne – that’s a gorgeous piece.
Brettboy – that is so great. . Really changes throughout – tells a story. I will have a listen to your other piecesJanuary 10, 2020 at 4:19 pm in reply to: Participate in the January 2020 Member Challenge – Original Music! #34894
lyndallkParticipantThat’s a great piece Gianluca. Love the rhythm. Also looking forward to hearing your new uke.

lyndallkParticipantThought I’d have a go at a composition ☺️🎶. It has no title.
It’s more like a study of two phrases really than an actual song. I’d love to have written something about living on the coal face of climate change (sort of literally) and the endless fires here but I don’t have that sort of control of the instrument.
Anyway here it is. Thanks for offering the challenge Andrew and thanks for inspiring Sara.

lyndallkParticipantPlease keep writing music Sara! I love that piece. So much rhythm, and lovely chord progressions – and then it has two movements for goodness sake! Brilliant.
Andrew – question – how long does a composition need to be to actually be a piece? Sara has inspired if not intimated…..

lyndallkParticipantWow. Sara. Really like your composition. What a treat.
lyndallkParticipantYes very nice indeed

lyndallkParticipantI have little time this month, but might tackle Spanish Nights, even if I don’t complete it. And, as always, I don’t hold myself to it, so if I go with one of the other in the end, so be it!
We are suffering such terrible and unprecedented fires here in Oz so if anyone can wish rain rain rain and more rain for us, please do……
lyndallkParticipantThanks to the whole teaching team, Andrew, and all the regular members I’m counting as friends (even if I’ve only met Robin and Tiffany in real life 😄) I’ve played a bunch of your arrangements at uke club and introduced RC101 to a few friends. I have to say in a weird, and oddly and surprisingly greedy way, the prizes have helped me be consistent in monthly challenges, even though I don’t mind if I win or not (except for this month 😂)
I love so many ideas that people have suggested. I’d also love love love a course on improvisation. (I haven’t really done the courses but I look at them sometimes. I’d definitely do an impro one). I know you be done some on different strumming techniques but would love more advanced strumming options eg in time signatures, love the idea of arranging too that others have mentioned.
Andrew, next December can you arrange Ocho Kandalikas for chunukah for finger picking and singing. Or other Chanukah songs I can suggest. (That’s a very specific request!)
Thanks again folks
