planetfinkParticipantI don’t know if this happens to anyone else, but when it gets to the end of the month and I hear all the the songs I didn’t work on, I now want to play them. At the end of last month I started working on Stand By Me. Today I just started working on If I Fell.
planetfinkParticipantAt least this time he was well fed so he was quiet.
planetfinkParticipantHere is the version of Here Comes the Sun I have been working on. I’m posting it here because it is too different from Andrew’s arrangement to submit to the challenge. I shortened it for this recording, but the original arrangement (by Fred Sokolow) fits the Beatles version exactly. I have been having fun playing along with the recording.

planetfinkParticipantThanks @abaluyot
planetfinkParticipantI’ve been working on Stand By Me. I spent all my time last month working on In My Life. I couldn’t tackle two really hard tunes at once. I’m also working on a non Rockclass101 arrangement of Here Comes The Sun. It’s from a book of Beatles tunes arranged for ukulele I bought a few years ago and realized it was way above my ability. It’s cool I can now play some of these tunes.

planetfinkParticipantGreat job @deadbuggy ! I also have a Kala Waterman, but I’ve never made it sound so good.

I will work on a new tune this month, but I already had recorded this one. I played a cigar box ukulele because the old timey sound fit the tune. The uke was a gift from my daughter. She had it custom made for me with poppies and lupine painted on it because they are my two favorite flowers. She told the woman making it I actually played ukulele and wasn’t just going to just hang it on a wall, so she took extra care to make it playable.
planetfinkParticipantThat was really beautiful. Loved it!
planetfinkParticipantI retired last May. I love this site and the way it pushes and challenges me. Welcome.
planetfinkParticipantAin’t Talkin’ ‘Bout Love You did a cool ukulele solo, so I thought it might be your favorite.

planetfinkParticipant@lisadmh Very nice, loved the plucking and the backbeat. Has a great swing feel to it.

This was the hardest thing I have ever played on ukulele. I tend to say that every time I learn a new piece here, I guess that means I keep challenging myself. After playing various instruments (mostly wind instruments) for many years, I have finally learned how to practice (play small parts at a time, play SLOWLY). It’s ironic, my late husband was a piano teacher and I heard him tell this to students for years. But if I was learning something new, I would play it close to full speed badly until I got it (sort of). He would be pleased I finally got the message. I hear his voice telling me to slow down when I start screwing up. The piece still needs work, but this is the cleanest recording I’ve got so far.
planetfinkParticipantI am so sorry to hear the sad news, Anne. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

planetfinkParticipantThanks, Becky. I’m a huge podcast fan. I got the shirt at a podcast convention in Seattle a month ago.
