Here is my entry for Challenge 22. After tackling moon last month, thought to go with a shorter song with Auld Lang Syne. While shorter, it is still challenging for me from a timing standpoint. Granted, I’m still practicing. RickNovember 18, 2018 at 8:11 am in reply to: Participate in the November 2018 Member Challenge – WIN Skype Lesson w/ Taimane! #20115rickkhan
ParticipantHi Andrew, Thanks for the great feedback. Here is another attempt. I’m not quite there yet. Following the play along at 80%… This song is much more difficult that I anticipated. This is great challenge.
P.S. I had to re-record the last video. Sorry, couldn’t edit my previous post. Rick

ParticipantRobinboyd,
Oh the Romeo creations grand tenor in Mango sounds sooo sweet. I got a chance to play it and almost bought it this past summer, but ended up deciding on a mahogany wood unit instead in the Tiny Tenor. Rickrickkhan
ParticipantThanks Becky! The mango is soft and creates a warm, sharp sound. I have a high gloss coat that helps with projection. I found this Oscar Schmidt Spalted Mango wood tenor online and watched a bunch of YouTube reviews. It is still my favorite. It was the first ‘real’ Uke I bought and for the price around $300 it was well worth it in every way. Good luck in your search for your next Uke. Thanks for the kudos on my posts. 🙂

Participant@deadbuggy, sweet! My partner surprised me for my birthday and got tickets for the Jake show at the Ordway theatre in St. Paul, MN 9/27/2018. I got a chance to meet him for a brief minute and he signed my poster. His playing is so amazing, it’s mindblowing the sound that comes out of his Uke. Rick

ParticipantNice job @mick_we The solo at the end was sweet! I would love to learn that solo. 🙂
I have a shorter version that I found of this song and really enjoy playing.

Participant@jakeypoo, wow, that sounds so good! I didn’t even really notice any mistakes by the overall sound of the song. Rick

Two weeks focused on Moon by Taimane. Trying to emulate Evan’s performance. Sounds easier than it is to actually do… Here is my entry – still haven’t memorized the entire song. I made a transition for each Theme, being the nerd that I am. Hope you like and please provide feedback.
Aloha, Rick

This is my second entry into the member challenge. Etude 15 was a bit challenging as well. 3 weeks on learning side and still having some challenges. Not playing at same pace, but getting there. Feedback welcome.
