samash07ParticipantI’d like to request.
Ballad of the Goddess from Legend of Zelda.
This tune is a reverse of Zeldas Lullaby in a way. I’d really love to see more gaming tunes on the website @hardel

samash07ParticipantJust saw Rockclass101 post on Instagram and immediately logged into the forums to watch the performance.
This is something truly amazing and beautiful especially in a time like this. Keep rocking @taylor22jane and family! That was fantastic!
samash07ParticipantWow, that’s an amazing performance, I could listen to this whole day.
If you don’t mind me asking, where can an interested individual find tabs/tutorial for this?

samash07Participant@stephencox thanks for the feedback! Yes I just played my video again and it definitely sounds like a slowdown. I’ll try with the fretting hand instead! Thank you!

samash07ParticipantThat’s one gorgeous prize! Whoever wins that is gonna be one super lucky person.
Time to get busy again. Thanks for the awesome opportunity Andrew, regardless of who wins… these challenges definitely help us to keep going and striving to get better.

samash07ParticipantHere’s my entry for the month.
I tried to obtain a Low G string for afew weeks now but no luck. Online shippings are limited and stocks are out in my country due to the current situation of the world. Any who, I believe my tempo is kind of fast? And I totally missed the tempo change in the 2nd half, but no worries. I only learnt this yesterday and will keep practicing!

samash07ParticipantWow, thanks for the little demonstration @robinboyd
I’m still a beginner so I’m not sure if I can learn the Waltz in these last 3-4 days but I guess I’ll go for it, even if it sounds abit off with a High G.
Thanks again!

samash07ParticipantHas anyone attempted Waltz in C using a High G? Sadly I’m still unsuccessful in obtaining a Low G string due to the current situation of the world. Stock issues.
Loving your improvement videos btw @robinboyd
samash07ParticipantAs others said, you should take a break. I had a similar problem when I was starting out but now my fingers have gotten harder on the tips so it doesn’t hurt as much. Still a long way to go though. Rest up, you need it!

samash07ParticipantWow, that is an impressive amount of entries in just 7 days of posting the challenge video. Great job guys! I should really try to get myself a Low G string too as Lagrima doesn’t sound that good. But I have a weird beginners question…
Is it ok to restring my High G string back after I’m done? Or are the strings obsolete once they are removed? I know this is probably a dumb question, lol.

samash07ParticipantThank you for the feedback @Andrew
I will definitely look into Evan & Matt’s videos to understand the phrasing part better. Guess I was too focused on finishing the piece rather than getting the flow right. I’ll work on this more over the next few days and hopefully record a follow up performance.
Thanks again!

samash07ParticipantCongratulations on the raffle win @marama. Hope you enjoy the Banjolele and show it off to us with a performance.
@stephencox Wow, I’m amazed at your observation skills. I learned this piece in the last 4 days of the month and decided to throw in an entry to see my progress in playing Harmonics which, as per your feedback, I’ve got them down. Now about the hesitation part, there are 2 issues which I faced:-1) I have stage fright so it’s kinda weird that I experienced that through a camera lens too. Hopefully, I’ll be able to cope better in the future videos.
2) Since I only practiced the piece for a couple of days, I was thinking “Okay I’ve played this measure, what was next?” leading to hesitation while moving my hand along the fretboard. What’s weird is that I have the whole piece memorized but I still feel hesitant. Not sure how to tackle that.
I’ll work on the timing and go through Andrew’s video again. I definitely need to start counting while playing, which I never do. Thanks again for your feedback Stephen!

samash07ParticipantAh I see, I thought I missed that part somewhere in the first post.
@annemarie you’re welcome, glad to hear it worked out!March 1, 2020 at 12:43 pm in reply to: Participate in the March 2020 Member Challenge – Classical Themed! #35946
samash07ParticipantThat’s an amazing choice of tunes!
Sadly I still don’t have access to a Low G string/ukulele, but as you said that we could tackle Lagrima with a High G so I’m going to try just that.
Good luck to all and as Andrew said “let’s crush this month’s challenge!”
