samash07ParticipantThanks for the feedback Andrew.
Yes, some parts are definitely rushed, even my performance length is way shorter. I could’ve worked on it if I had the time but this month’s packed. Hopefully I can tackle the June challenge with a much better paced performance.
Thanks again!

samash07ParticipantLOL amazing performance @bethany_guardiani
That beginning “whoosh” was unexpected.

Unfortunately I didn’t have enough time this month to put together a perfect piece, only been playing for the last 3 days. I won’t have access to my Ukulele from tomorrow so anyways, here’s my attempt at this month’s challenge performing Smoke on the Water.
samash07ParticipantThanks Andrew! It really is, a timeless classic.
samash07ParticipantThanks for your input Lisa.
I live in Bahrain. The only Ukuleles available here are the ones I linked above.
There’re barely any Uke players here, atleast I’ve yet to encounter one. I will check out Islander and if it’s a budget brand of Kanilea that should be good enough. Maybe I could research on YouTube/Google or something. Regardless thanks for the input!
samash07ParticipantAwesome performance, I too am an avid Zelda fan and the beauty of this piece is that it sounds equally great when played on a slower tempo too.
This was the first tune I learned, even though it was meant for seasoned beginners, and also the reason why I joined RockClass101.

samash07ParticipantThanks Andrew for the great tip and taking time to record a video, much appreciated.
Your gym-uke analogy was exceptional, this is why I love RC101!
After playing for all these months I’ve realised that I’ve set into my own “comfort” zone and I only aim to learn songs that are within that zone or have a slow tempo, which is definitely causing this “plateau”.
I’ll begin working on the transitions the way you explained, start slow and gradually increase the speed. Thanks again for the tips 🙂
Will check out Matt’s video now.
samash07ParticipantTunes I’d love to see a tutorial for:-
– Ballad of the Goddess (it’s like a reversed Zelda’s Lullaby, which was already covered by Andrew)
– Dearly Beloved (Kingdom Hearts)April 1, 2021 at 1:10 pm in reply to: Participate in the April 2021 Challenge – WIN Kanile’a Baritone Ukulele! #46380

Alright so this is probably too early but at my current level this is the best I can do, I’ve been playing this piece almost every other week for quite awhile now since I LOVE ANIMAL CROSSING. Please Andrew do more video game covers? Thanks :). Would really love some tips on how to do those fret jumps without the pauses.
P.S- Did I say LOVE animal crossing? Video is the proof 😉
samash07ParticipantWelcome to the family Ashley!
Those are some really great vocals, can’t wait to see what the future brings!
Would love to hear a cover by you of How Far I’ll Go from the Disney hit Moana <3

samash07ParticipantGreat choices of the songs, that’s one really good prize!

samash07ParticipantSo the singing part is optional for LOVE? There’s no way I’d ever get the courage to sing as I sound like a broken record, lol.

samash07ParticipantMy attempt at Andrew’s masterpiece…

samash07ParticipantFor a change I already have one of the songs memorised as I couldn’t stop learning Into the Maze when it released. So beautiful!
Now to practice and get the timing right.

samash07ParticipantI believe this is the first time I’m interested in attempting all those songs! Now to pick one. I could easily go for Toss A Coin since I was almost done with it in the beginning of the year….but Dream State sounds so awesome! Not sure if I could play it though.
