@melanieh I think it’s definitely the holy grail of Uke songs..

Honestly, I’ve seen you play you could definitely play this, give it a go 🙂 I think the most aspect is the speed. At a 100% I think my thumb would fall off haha

Wow, well I got more than I bargained for when I clicked on that. Music as art.

That U bass was just awesome subtle but provided added depth.

Really beautiful and inspiring performance thank for sharing 😍

I live in a place called Rishon. It’s next to Tel Aviv which is on the coast. Enjoy the theory 🙏🏻

I would really recommend doing the music theory course on here. It sounds complicated but it’s really not (after it’s explained).

So once you know the key you can work out the melody really easily as the melody will use the scale associated to the key ie G major scale.

Another way to work out the melody (for any song) is to go onto YouTube and watch an easy piano tutorial of that song. They will tell you which keys are pressed during the melody ie GCDGCD .. you can then Google the Ukuleke fretboard and work out where the notes are and play the melody 🙂

Honestly learn some theory it opens up a new world. I thought it would be really boring haha but it’s actually fascinating how it all fits together and makes learning so much easier as instead of having to remember patterns of notes for a song you already know them as they follow the scale patterns.

    Enjoy 🙏🏻

    Hey,

What do you need help with.. It’s in the key of G and has lots of 7th chords that give it that slow mellow sound..

I think this is really common. Things that have helped me.

    1. Record your entire practise session, rather than placing emphasis on that one moment where you want to record yourself. Make it part of your routine.

    2. Get lost in the music and relax. Don’t rush through each bar as if it’s a checkpoint to be completed.

    3. Play songs which you can improvise to build confidence ie. A jazz backing track in A minor. You can’t make a mistake if you’re making it up 🙂

    4. If none of this works pour a large glass of whisky 😂

By the end of my first year(1year ago) I wanted to be able to play ‘A Thousand Years’.

    Goals for this year.

    1. Learn ‘Body Surfing’.
    2. Arrange 5 loop pedal ukulele covers at least 4-5 minutes each.
    3. Go busking with the above covers.

    😍

I joined just about under a year ago. This site has helped me a lot. Where as I’ve definitely got information from Youtube. The building blocks of my playing have come from here 😎

    1. Percussive Ukulele. There is literally no real advanced Tutorials for percussive Ukulele.

    2. Flamenco Ukulele Course.

    🙂
